Dunlap RV was started in 1994 by Brad and Renee Soldwedel. It was the passion for family camping that formally consummated the opening of Dunlap RV Centers. Dunlap RV started selling campers out of an old gas station in the center of town, in Dunlap, Tennessee. Over the past twenty years, Dunlap RV has grown into five stores in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia. Brad and Renee have now been joined by their children, who are an integral part of the day to day operations of the business. Dunlap has positioned themselves as a Jayco Gold Circle of Excellence dealer, at all locations, with 100% customer satisfaction. Brad's philosophy of treating the customer first, and the company second, still remains the cornerstone of Dunlap RV Centers. In January of 2018, Dunlap RV Center joined the Family RV Group network of dealers that includes the Colerain Family RV and Northside Family RV stores located in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Now nine stores strong, Family RV Group, can service our customers over multiple states. It also give the group great purchasing power. It's simple, our volume buying gives you the lowest prices.

We purchased a new Jayco in April from Dunlap Family RV in April. We brought in for a scheduled service appointment to address about 6 warranty items. They did not even look at it until 2 weeks after my “appointment “, they blame Jayco for warranty issues slowing the process. They have had it for six weeks thus far, and are apparently going to have it a couple of more weeks. Do not do business with this dealer.

Overall a terrible experience and the brand new Super C they sold us is currently unusable. The positives: Michael did our walkthrough and was helpful. Holly was the only one on the sales team to give us straight answers and seemed to know exactly what was going on. Nearly two hours after arriving for pickup, she took over and had us out the door in 10 minutes. However--the sales manager, Eddie, was extremely pushy about financing through them, to the point we later found out he popped off about us at their sales meeting because we already had outside financing lined up. Took numerous requests to get a corrected bill of sale. We asked our sales guy multiple times if they needed anything else from us and he consistently said no. We were upfront that due to their limited pickup times and our work/appointment schedules, we needed to have paperwork ready to be in and out, and every time we were told it was all set. We show up and the sales guy says do the walkthrough first. Thirty minutes later, we walk back inside and that's when the excuses start. For almost TWO HOURS we get the runaround until Eddie finally waltzes out and I ask him why the paperwork wasn't done. He proudly smirks at me and says if we had financed with HIM, he'd have personally seen to every detail. But our bank needs us to call in for payoff and the delay is actually OUR fault. Now, in fairness, Dunlap RV only had 10 days between deposit and time of pickup to tell us they still needed payoff information to prepare the paperwork--and we only asked seven different times if everything was set. But it's not the sales guy's fault, because he says "they told me everything was ready." And it's certainly not Eddie's fault, because if he'd been incentivized to ensure this was handled, it would have been. Never mind the fact their financing department is responsible for ANY transaction regardless of where you finance and it's LITERALLY THEIR JOB. Further, we noticed they were very focused on the passenger side of our trade-in. My husband walks out and asks the general manager if there's a problem--and the GM says they're "noticing some small things"? Then proceeds to ask if we've had it repainted or the entire driver's side slide replaced. On a vehicle we've owned for FOUR months AND without ANY evidence to back up that claim. Didn't stop there--Eddie decides to get involved after we start discussing walking out on the sale. He points out our vehicle registration says 2020, not a 2021 as we stated, and says he doesn't have the motorhome VIN. I said point-blank, "My husband wrote the motorhome VIN on the appraisal form which shows its registered as a 2021. Didn't you run that to get a trade value?" NOPE! After I ask how he obtained an accurate trade value, he starts explaining the difference between a chassis VIN and motorhome VIN as if I'm some kind of idiot. I cut him off and tell him I know exactly what VIN he's referring to and to show me our appraisal form so I can look at what's written down. He immediately starts sputtering and backtracks--then claims he'll "go call my buddy at Thor." He disappears and manages to confirm we've told the truth--with the motorhome VIN he said he DIDN'T HAVE. Never did produce the appraisal form. Worst part?? Today we're driving it to storage when the vehicle starts beeping, the check engine and red "stop" engine lights start flashing. The vehicle loses power and I'm forced to pull over. So to recap: The sales manager openly trashed us at a sales meeting. They lied to our face several times about having the paperwork ready. They insinuated not once but TWICE we misrepresented our trade-in vehicle. And less than 48 HOURS later, the vehicle THEY SOLD US is stranded in a parking lot. The irony.

My family and I purchased our Open Range March of 2021. We were told that this particular dealership provides same day service and that our propane bottles would be full when we picked up our trailer. When we got it home the propane tanks were empty and they refused to filled them for me. Fall of 2021, my power toughen jack control panel failed. I set an appointment to have it serviced. I was finishing hooking up to my truck and called to let them know I was on the way to which they replied that they didn’t have me in the schedule that day. A day I had set for 30 days in advance so I could get off work. After going back and forth with them they agreed to order the part I needed and I could swap them out myself. After swapping the part and returning the broken part, they called 30 days later to let me know my part was still there to pick up. In January of 2022, I needed to get three repairs done. I called and spoke to Beverly Anglin in the service department and she told me that she would get the repairs lined up so that I could get them done in a short time frame as we were full time RVers. I called in February, she said she was working on it and asked me to email photos of the needed repairs. I sent several photos to get the repairs lined up before the warranty expires. In March my wife and I made a carrier change and left full time RV life. I told them we would be moved out of the trailer and I could bring it on April first for the repairs. At that an appointment for drop off on April 12th. I Drop the trailer off and then get a message that my warranty had expired and I would be required to pay for the repairs unless I had an extended warranty, which I do. Almost 6 weeks go by with no movement. I called Open Range who stated had they dealership input the needed work they could have extended the warranty. I go to get my trailer and was told I have to pay a service fee, which I refused because no service had been performed. I was told not to bring it back again I was not welcome there for service. During the time my trailer was there, I tried to reach the manager multiple times. It took 4 calls to other dealerships in the Family RV banner to finally get the manager Greg on the phone. He tells me he will work on it can get back to me. Weeks go by and he finally tells me the it was my responsibility to get the warranty work lined up with Open Range and there is nothing he can do. During the multiple emails and phone calls with Beverly it was never mentioned that I needed to contact Open Range regarding my warranty. When I need warranty work done on my Ram truck I call my dealership not Ram trucks. I get my trailer from them to find out my power jack is now not functional. So I didn’t get repairs needed and it is more broken then when I dropped it off. I reached out to Greg and see if they would at least make the repairs covered under the extended warranty I purchased or buy the trailer back from me. That was three weeks ago as of today July 22, 2022 and he hasn’t responded to any calls or emails.

If I could rate this dealership with a zero I would. We purchased a brand new 2021 jayco fifth wheel. The issues began after the sale whenever you called the dealership you got nothing but thevrun around. Our sales person, the business manger or the manager never responded or returned calls. We brought our tv in for service after only using it one time. All parts had to be ordered which took over six months to get. We had some damage to outside of camper and was told they could fix it. They had our camper for over two weeks and then told us their body shop guy was out sick so they could not do the repairs. We had to find another place. Why did they wait so long to tell us and the other repairs weren’t done either so had to make four trips with everyone to get stuff done. My husband was then called to active duty fir 14 months but we were time they would fix the other items once the parts came in and he returned from deployment. Well that time is now and we have had our camper to the dealership twice. Once in May 16. 2022 but they had to order another part. We took our camper out memorial weekend and ran into numerous issues. We called Dunlap but they said they could not get us in until June 9th. The lady who checked us is was very rude, and started saying all these things were not covered. They went against what was promised. We were told all would be fixed and we would have our camper back before July as we told them we had a camping trip paid fir at that time. We already had to cancel several trips because of Dunlap lack of service. When we dropped it off today we were told they can’t guarantee if our camper will be ready??? They gave 45 campers ahead of us?? What hour was making me an appointment?? I then called to speak to the manager but got the service manager instead. He kinda gave me the runaround but said he would call me back by end of day. I’m still waiting as he never called back. He told me he could not access any work orders where I had the camper serviced prior to their acquisition. I had copies of all work orders and receipts which I emailed to him to show what was warranted and share as promised but I am sure Dunlap will find another reason to not honor their promises. I will never but from this dealership again nor would I recommend this dealership as they do not provide any type of customer service. I don’t think they even know what it is. The entire staff is rude, unprofessional, uncaring and do not return phone calls. When you call to speak to someone you get the runaround and never get to speak to the person you called for. I would stay clear of this dealership as they are the worst around!!

We purchased a 2001 Fleetwood Expedition RV from Dunlop RV in Lebanon, TN in the fall of 2018 for $30,000.00 CASH. The salesman, Gary, told us that EVERYTHING worked just fine, but that it had been winterized, so we couldn't check and use the water until spring. The first thing we noticed was the passenger seat belt didn't want to latch and the entrance door didn't want to stay closed. We were told that you had to slam the door and push really hard on the seatbelt latch. Ok, maybe a little WD40. We got it home and was checking everything out; the refrig didn't work, the microwave didn't work, one of the front running lights didn't work, and there was a beep all the time driving. We took it back to Dunlop RV to get these things fixed. They said they fixed the refrig, the microwave, the door handle, the running light, said the beep was one of the fluid jacks was leaking and fixed that and filled up the propane tank (didn't touch the seatbelt). I took it home, again. I went to check things out a week later (I do have to work) and the propane tank is empty. We took it back to Dunlop. They said sorry, we left the refrig on, and filled up the tank, again. I attended the class to do the un-winterizing (this isn't my first camper, but is my first RV) and went home to de-winterize it and could finally check the water. The fridge was leaking, the ice maker line was leaking, the valve is broken so couldn't turn it off, had to turn it off under the sink, no hot water (water heater isn't working), and the AC doesn't work. I brought it back in; and guess what? I got locked in the RV, the door handle that you said had been fixed had NOT been fixed and one of your mechanics had to come outside and do something to the door (about 15 minutes) so I could get out. You kept it for a week this time, and said EVERYTHING had been fixed. I bring it home and park it. The next day I go out to check things out and guess what? Yep, the fluid jack is leaking, again. I had to special order the seatbelt and replace it myself. We haven't even gotten to use this RV yet. The only miles we have put on it is back and forth to the dealer. We said we would trade it for a newer model that they had for $40,000.00 and we would pay the $10,000.00 difference. You said NO, that you would only give us $20,000.00 for the one we purchased for $30,000.00 6 months ago. And you refuse to refund our $30,000.00, even though we haven't even been able to use it due to everything that has been wrong with it, after we had been told, several times, that everything works correctly. I am also sending a copy of this to the Better Business Bureau. And, NO, NO, NO, I would NOT recommend this place for ANYONE to purchace from here.
