Year 1: spent almost 8 months in dealer’s shop (Broadmoor Rv, Pasco, WA because of slider failure and parts availability issues. Support from dealer was marginal; didn’t do much if anything until you bugged them. Ultimately kitchen slider was fixed, good repair job by dealer that included damage to flooring.
Year 2: slider issues and failure of bedroom unit. Contact with dealer was a waste of time, no help from Broadmoor Rv whatsoever. Went to independent rv repair shop in Pendleton, Oregon: awesome service and fixed writhing 3 weeks.
Year 3: just finished 4,000 trip, no issues, great handling, everything worked.

We liked the look and style of this RV and watching how they are built on their website seemed like we were buying a quality product. We used is for 6 nights and two camping trips before the slide broke and would not go out all the way out. It jammed and dug into the floor and we spent two nights like that until we just decided to go home. There were several other problems we had with this motor home and it was nearly impossible to get in touch with someone at coachmen in customer service. I left emails and several messages and didn’t get a reply until I called every day for a few days. Among the other issues we had was the coach door was vey difficult to open, the dvd player ($30 on Amazon) didn’t work the first time we tried, ac unit was vibrating because the bolts to the roof were not tight, rubber on the roof was pealing up, sealer gaps on the roof, right window not installed correctly in its track (binding), inside trim on slide looks like it was installed with a shotgun. We took it in for service and was told they denied repairing some of the items(trim, dvd player). When we brought it in for service the vehicle had less then 3000 miles on it and was less then a year old (5 months was covered in storage and 2 at the dealership). Most of the trim and components are very cheap quality like plastic shelf paper covering fake wood trim. Low quality TV,s and audio equipment. We knew we had a Covid lemon and we tried to trade it in only to find out it’s worth $50000 less then we paid for it and neither the dealer nor manufacturer had any interest in helping us out. I would recommend avoiding this company and it’s parent company forest river.

The Freelander 22XG has a great floorplan layout. With just my wife and I, this 24 ft RV seems very very roomy. We use the over cab bunk for our suite cases and everything else that might clutter up the area. The dinette is comfortable for eating, playing games and watching TV at night. The 10 cu ft 12v refrigerator is bigger than many common place 8 cu ft units and especially the 6 cu ft units in the Class B+ units.
The queen size murphy bed is almost like being at home, being the same size. During the day we keep the murphy bed up against the wall with the sheets still on the bed. It wakes the RV seem much bigger. When we drive, I keep the bed down to the non driver can rest if needed before taking their turn driving. It drives just like a pickup or full size van. At about the size of a U-Haul truck, it drives and handles much better.
We have only had ours about year but are still pleased. We have even found winterizing it much easlier that expected.

Two slide outs make this RV expand to a large living space and private master bedroom. Sleeps 6 and ours has the two recliners which is nice when watching movies.
Larger shower than most we have seen in class C's and an instant-hot water heater. Nice warm showers right away!
Easy to drive and tow with this RV.
Large awning gives us a lot of covered outdoor space, which definitely expands our living areas!

If you like boondocking, think Harvest Hosts, one battery gets you a refrigerator battery alarm at 2am, if you stopped driving at 5pm.
Your chosise is run the Benny or turn off the refrigerator. Don’t do one of the two you wake up with a dead battery that won’t start the generator.
This is a lousy design and it’s from a company counting beans, not in the real world.

Do not waste $100,000 on a Freelander like we did. Purchased July 23, 2022 and have used once! The rest of the time it's at the dealer or waiting for parts. I won't go thru the extensive list of small stuff like poor trim, inadequate sealing in various places or even the bedroom wall coming apart. We haven't been able to use because of fuel pump and a non working fridge. Note besides a monthly RV payment we are also paying for long term site. Combined we are paying $1500 a month for a motorhome we can't use. Oh and don't bother calling the company it goes straight to VM and they don't call back I have tried twice. Dealer said it takes them hours on hold to reach them on the dealer line. Speaking of dealer bait and switch as we were told what a high quality RV we were getting, whereas service said 2021 & 2022s are known Covid RV and they can't get them off the lots! Lessons learned, don't make the same mistake.
