Lenny won't hesitate to rip you off given the opportunity. The short version - Lenny coerced me to pay 4x what I offered for them to hold the vehicle I was interested in after assuring me that the deposit was 100% refundable. He was real nice and friendly at first. Since, he has been nothing but rude, threatening, and completely uncooperative. He has become impossible to communicate with and is very obviously determined to force me (a 100% disabled Marine Corps veteran) to spend as much of my own money and waste as much of my time as possible chasing a refund he has no intention of giving to me. I will be forced to take him to small claims court and I am nearly certain it will take every available course of action legally available to get any money back from him, if at all. The full story - I had initially found an RV in San Antonio that I really liked. I put a $500 deposit on the unit and we scheduled a day for pick up. Later in the week my inspector found it had water damage. A LOT of water damage. I told the dealer I would need time to reconsider. He understood and told me to take all the time that I need. That evening I searched the web for other RV's like it. There happened to be a similar model at Poor...errr "top" Choice RV. I drove out the next morning from San Antonio to check it out. It was pretty clean but I did have concerns about the loose steering. It wandered all over the road. I asked the dealer I was working with, Al, if I could put a $500 deposit down to hold the vehicle while I dealt with the other one back in SA. He called Lenny and Lenny said they would need $2000. I was apprehensive and specifically asked "is it 100% refundable?" I clarified, "if for any reason I change my mind, whether it's a defect or personal reasons, will I get 100% of the deposit back?" the answer I got: "oh yea, 100% refundable, you'll get your money back." - AL. We did the credit application and I was pre-approved pending a W2 and paystub submission. I paid the $2000 and on the way back to San Antonio called the other dealership and cancelled the sale. The other dealer remained friendly and was completely understanding. I received my $500 deposit back from them on Wednesday. After a lot of thought, calculation, and research over the weekend, I determined the RV Lenny was selling was way overpriced and I found another, similar model that was recently renovated for $30k less. I texted Lenny on Monday letting him know I would be backing out of the sale, thanked him and his team for their hospitality, and let him know I had referred his business to a family member. His reply was that the RV I was looking at was "cancer" and that he "can't give those away". No further contact was made until Wednesday when I inquired about the $2000 deposit. Lenny informed me they do not accept deposits (even though it is listed as such on the buyers order) and that that was a "partial payment" which would not be refunded. He told me the deposit (I thought you don't take deposits, Lenny.) would only be refunded if I was not approved for financing (I have been pre-approved, I have not been actually approved because I did not submit a W2 or a paystub. I get pre-approved for credit cards I've never heard of in the mail all the time, too, Lenny.). I asked Lenny to show me where it says that in any of the paperwork I signed and he ghosted me. I called, and he sent me to voicemail on the second or third ring. I left a voicemail that was nothing less than professional and he texted me back immediately saying he would "get with [me] in a few days". When I informed him I would be contacting my family lawyer, he immediately replied informing me he would be keeping my deposit until he heard from my lawyer and that "[he] doesn't take kindly to threats." and "[he] has an attorney too . So have [my] attorney contact his." He has since relisted the RV for sale on his website. The letter of demand from my lawyer will be ignored and I will end up wasting time and money taking this thief to court, but I will be seeing you in court, Lenny.
