BUYER BEWARE WHEN DEALING WITH TERRY TOWN RV IN GRAND RAPIDS MI. Make sure you have a 3rd party inspector meet you there and take as much time as you can, it will save you money and headaches. Better yet DONT DEAL WITH THEM AT ALL. Yes they employ a few nice and understanding people, but they have their hands tied and so can do little to help. I purchased a used RV and Jeremy the salesman and Cory the service rep were a huge help and called back when they said they would or within a timely manner. Being completely new to RVs, I asked the questions and trusted the answers I was given. That being said, 1. Within 48 hours the generator stopped and had a code. Which Cory was helping me with and it was sent to Cummins for service and was told the generator would work but it was the wiring in the camper, I'm very skeptical that the generator was even looked as as there was still stuff around the motor that would have been cleared away. 2. All of the caulking that was supposed to happen as part of the deal didn't happen, and led to a huge amount of water damage. None of the lights, or around the garage exhaust ports were caulked. 3. Once Cory left the service team, several service reps including the service manager failed to respond to messages and never called when they said they would. Not that they called later, they never called period. Leaving me to call the front desk and ask for someone to go get the person. Eventually just asking for management, which surprise surprise refused to answer and kept sending subordinates. 4. When I brought the RV back for some insurance repair from tire damage, I had a set date for an appointment. After driving from Missouri I pulled in to find out they were way behind on repairs. After 3 weeks of waiting and using up the free housing we had, I had to spend almost $2,000 in lodging for them to actually do something with the camper. That was something that was totally avoidable with a phone call, yet again communication is horrific. 5. I had to this point been trying to get warranty done since I purchased the extended warranty. As well as more work when that was completed, yet they never seem to so a willingness to perform the work. Since there is little to no money in warranty work. 6. When we started to try to fix some of those issues ourselves, we find out that water damage was already present and had burned out the surround sound for the tv and music, which I was told that everything was working. The TV in the garage also would stop working and not play DVDs. 7. Not sure if all the dozens and I mean dozens of ignored communication requests were just coincidental but it seems like discrimination. For what reason I have no idea, Jeremy was very happy to help me when he found out I was a 100% disabled Veteran and was taking my family to travel the country in full time RV to find a new place to live. Everyone I talked with seemed to be nice enough, but now I wonder. 8. Right after getting the camper back the very next time running out the main slide, the slide cover mounts are broken and cracked the slide. The edge of the cover that was supposed to shed water off the slide was pulled back and behind the slide edge and dumping the water on the slide. Since then I have had water coming in and have caulked everything I can but it is still leaking. I had to pay for new brackets and installation. At this point I'm not sure what to do, I bought it As Is, I believe, and so they are going to play the "not our fault " when it's clear that the service technicians are not doing their job. I have to find another place to live as my 3 kids are starting to feel sick from mold is my suspicion. I finally got an answer, not from the person I requested to talk to, and yup as is "not our fault ". I was "allowed " to keep the $1687 from insurance that they never requested. They said they would buy it back for 10k when I spent over 30k, I said if they were able to get to 20k I'd be interested in talking. They were not willing to talk about more. Mainly because I was not dealing with the manager I requested to talk to. They also said that they would take it back on trade in for another camper. I'm not sure how I am going to proceed, so I will begin with by warning those that I can.
