Back in February my wife and I ordered a new travel trailer, we were told pickup date would be around the 1st of May, possibly even end of April. 1st of May came and went, no contact, finally called and was given an answer of maybe end of May, likely beginning of June. 1st pickup date for beginning of June was pushed back 10 days due to water heater (not Mt. Comfort's fault) but there was very little-almost no communication.
Finally we picked it up. Pantry door was damaged due to somebody opening the or closing the slide with the door not secured, steps were not installed correctly and our outside door would not shut for the entirety of our 1st trip. Also during our 1st trip it rains hours after getting setup, main slide is leaking.
On our 3rd and most recently trip, after the trailer is set up, we find the AC unit will not turn on. Call Mt. Comfort to try and find any sort of help to troubleshoot it, we got little help. We were given a direct number to Forest River warranty, once again, it was very little help offered, we were told it was likely an AC compressor and a minimum of 5 days to get fixed unless we took it to Mt. Comfort service department. We finally made contact with Steve (unk last name) at Mt. Comfort, he was very helpful, he listened, he offered some money to help find a service person. While trying to find a service person, a friend and I were able to take the top cover off AC unit and found that styrofoam had been lodged in the fan, not allowing for it to run, this was suggested by a service person. That same service person stated there is no reason for the AC unit to have styrofoam in it, had to have been from the build at Forest River.
Finally, the straw that broke the camel's back, today I contacted (emailed) one of the Business Managers, I asked about getting the paperwork for the title as we have not received it yet and registration expired on 8/1. at 6:30 this evening I received an email stating they failed to collect the last part of our down payment and that our title work will now have an extra delay. He also requested it be paid tomorrow, first thing in the morning. Now, I understand we owe that money, but I was told they had previously collected it, by the same person, I also don't understand how this falls through the cracks.
This review is a 2-star because the warranty work for the steps and rain leak was quick and Steve (unk last name) was helpful with us and offered a plan to try and get it diagnosed and fixed.
My wife and I do not and will not recommend buying from this business. Once they have your signature secured on the line, good luck after that.
