We purchased a new 23' Coachmen Catalina from Meyers RV in Branchville NJ in September of 2022 which is about 1.5 hours from us. All was seemingly OK until we de-winterized the unit in Spring 2023 and discovered the water heater not working on LP. I called our dealership to obtain warranty service for this and was told their service manager left, they were short on staff, and had no room in their shop to take on any more service requests. Amazing! They suggested taking it to another Meyers RV location, and, after conferring with the Forest River Coachmen factory reps, I called their Harrisburg Pa. location (3.5 hours from us) and spoke to service advisor Brian Kreider who made an appointment to take our unit in for the repairs. In the interim, I had occasion to go under the trailer for an unrelated reason and was dismayed to find the following additional factory defects from the original trailer construction: 1. LP flex line to furnace crushed between frame & floor members 2. All piping and wiring openings through trailer floor unsealed 3. Fresh water tank vent hose crushed between framing All of the above was documented with pictures and given to the Meyers RV service dept. in Harrisburg when we dropped the unit off. Approx. 2 weeks later, Mr. Kreider informed me that all the repairs were completed, we picked the unit up on 6/9/23 and was given a full report of their findings and repairs they made. Due to the distance, we stayed weekend at a campground Pa. and. in doing so I immediately discovered that the water heater was still inoperative on LP. I called Mr. Kreider and he said to bring it back in and they would take another look at it. After arriving home on Monday, I also got under the trailer to check the "repairs" the Meyer's service report said were done. While the author of their report acknowledged that the problems we reported were indeed factory defects and gave a full description of the repair work they supposedly performed, I was astonished to find that NO work was actually done by them, and all the conditions were the same as when we brought the unit in. In another call to Mr. Kreider he insisted that the work was done despite my sending them another set of pictures clearly showing it was not and, after a lengthy email exchange, I informed him that I would consult the Forest River factory rep for another reliable service center to repair these problems. Bad enough that Meyers Service Dept in Harrisburg never made any of the repairs but then completely falsified the service report indicating they did so. We have recently taken the unit to Camping World RV in Lakewood NJ who has already completed most of the repairs that Meyers failed to do and will resolve one other issue when the parts arrive. In conclusion, although I would rate the Meyers RV Branchville location 4 out of 5 for sales (they definitely know how to schmooze a sale) but would never buy anything from them again. Their service dept. gets a 0 for service as they refused to perform any at all to a customer who purchased from them. Also, in my brief experience with them adding accessories at the time of sale revealed that the service people they had at the time were clearly inexperienced. As for the Meyers RV Service Dept. in Harrisburg Pa., they have to get a "0" as well due to their complete failure to make the requested repairs and then generating a completely falsified report that the work was done. I also have to comment that, although both the service and general managers at Meyers Branchville and Harrisburg were copied on all the emails and correspondence concerning the above, none of them took an interest or contacted me to acknowledge or rectify the blatantly inappropriate actions of their respective staffs.
