Extremely Disappointing Experience with McPhails of Harriston I took my RV to McPhails of Harriston for insurance work after a squirrel infestation. As they were a dealer for my RV brand, I expected them to restore the unit to factory quality standards. Unfortunately, my experience with McPhails has been nothing short of a nightmare. Initially, my insurance assured me that the unit would undergo a thorough teardown, disinfection, and replacement of insulation, including any fabrics that the squirrels had come into contact with. However, upon requesting a copy of the completed work, I discovered that the wiring had not been fully inspected. This was especially concerning as I knew the squirrels had chewed on numerous wires throughout the roof, having made their home in the ceiling and HVAC system. Furthermore, it turned out that the squirrels had managed to accumulate a substantial collection of black walnuts throughout the unit, which were left untouched by the supposed restoration process. The service manager's response to my concerns was dismissive and condescending, leaving me frustrated and disheartened. I received zero communication during the repair process, despite several attempts to communicate with both insurance and McPhails. The only time responses were received was after sending the communication 3+ times and requiring a read/delivered receipt. Phone communication doesn't cut it when you seek to have things communicated in writing. Reluctantly, I picked up my unit after being threatened with accruing storage fees. My fears were confirmed upon inspection. The venting into the furnace had been left disconnected, black walnuts were still scattered throughout the interior, and the unit hadn't even been properly vacuumed out. To make matters worse, there were remnants of wires and debris in the underbelly, and areas damaged by the squirrels in the pantry and around the base of interior cabinets had been left untouched. When I approached both McPhails and my insurance company regarding these issues, I was met with a complete lack of accountability. The blame was passed back and forth, leaving me out of pocket and responsible for finishing the job that McPhails was entrusted with. Perhaps the most disheartening aspect of this whole experience was the attitude displayed by the service manager. Dealing with her was an exercise in frustration, as she consistently spoke down to me and displayed a condescending demeanor. I dreaded making any calls to discuss the problems, fearing the disrespectful treatment I would inevitably receive. In conclusion, if you're looking to be bullied, spoken down to, and have subpar workmanship performed on your vehicle, I wholeheartedly recommend contacting McPhails of Harriston. They have shown a complete lack of professionalism, failed to deliver on their promises, and left me to deal with the aftermath of their negligence. Save yourself the headache and seek out a more reputable and customer-centric establishment for your RV repairs.

We bought a Used 2012 Itasca Meridian 42e from these folks. They explained to me that they spend a lot of time making sure their used products are in good condition before they leave the shop. There were a few things that I wanted them to fix before I thought of purchasing it and they agreed. They were true to their word. This machine had absolutely nothing wrong with it. Everything works perfectly. I am obviously very pleased with this purchase and McPhails. Any questions I had after the fact they were easy to contact and work with. The only issue is they are replacing 2 windows as part of the deal and it has been 4 months. I can’t hold them responsible though as covid has caused the manufacturer to slow down production. It is still frustrating and I let them know. With any rv purchase, especially used, make sure you do your homework, as things you miss, a dealer might also miss and once you purchase it is usually too late.

We bought our new Tiffin in Arizona this past winter,it had some paint problems and I would not let the dealer repair them.Thats another story.talke dot Tiffin and they said I could get it repaired back in Ontario.Great I thought.emailed McPhail’s about a paint issue I had and one other thing.there response was that they could not find me in there customer base.resent email saying I was not a customer yet as we had just bought the .there answer was sorry they would not work on it,as I should of had the dealer we bought from work on it.thats a little tough as we live in Ontario. So I guess they don’t want any of my business for anything else I would have had done there like regular maintenance, oil, filters, grease,or anything else I might need.i would not take anything to them or buy anything from a dealer with that attitude.Someone closer to home will get my business.

It has literally been a nightmare. I bought a 2018 forest river no boundaries (nobo) 19.5 travel trailer from this dealership. Lisa Rowley sold me on it saying it was a rugged outdoor trailer that had big cooper tires and a special base and so on. I have just learned that the axle is no different then the rpod I traded in for the nobo. I purchased the rhino rack since I was told I couldn't use my yakima rack system. I found out that is not correct. I had them add a power jack but had to have it taken off since it was installed incorrectly. I drove home from McPhails the first day and the microwave, vent and stove came out. I called right away and they said bring it back. I asked if I would be compensated since it was 4 hours each way. Nope. I had already take work off to pick it up and so on. I went to PA for a week trip and first day the microwave came out again, stove came apart and glass top fell off. The wall beside the slide came out and two cupboard doors had come off. It keeps getting better. Day 2 four cupboards doors came off and some mystery part. I can't get the jack to work so I do it manually. I contact a Forest river dealer about 2 hours from where I am camping and they can fix it two days later. I wait and go to them for the appt. They fix the microwave and stove but that's all the time they have for it. I drive to a campground approx 1 hour away. The stove has come out again and the microwave is dented and door can't be opened. It keeps going on from there. I tell Lisa Rowley at McPhails that the stove came out again where I got it fixed. She says go back to that dealer and get them to fix it right. WOW. I contact forest river and they take it back. I was told it would be a couple weeks and they pick it up at my house in May. It takes two months and repeated calling and emailing. I go and meet the driver several hours away and get the trailer back. I spend the night at KOA and go to dump the tank. It is seized and the stove came out again. Repeat and get fixed. Repeat and battery has to be replaced, jack is replaced, the stove is still an issue, the countertop is coming off, the cupboard doors have come off again, trim is off on slide and I have no power when I am driving due to electrical. I can't use the fridge since it doesn't work while I am driving plus everything gets demolished. I have been fighting with Forest river for a year now. I need a refund to end this no bo nightmare. I have posted a youtube video please view it. no boundaries 19.5 travel trailer my nightmare I will persist until I get a satisfactory solution or death...which ever comes first.
