I have not been treated this way before and this was going to be a cash purchase. One must rely on the integrity of the people you are dealing with. The only good part of this was they let me know 8 hours before I was traveling for 3.5 hours to them.

I put money down for a specific RV model at Legacy's Festus (greater St. Louis) location in mid June 2023, which they didn't have in stock, and was told there was one remaining on the mfgr lot that I could get with a $1000 down payment. So I put the money down, and 3 weeks later found out that the dealership had been sold to Optimum RV out of Florida. I was told this would not impact my sale/order, but a month after that I was still getting the runaround and one of the sales managers at the Optimum FL office was trying to sell me a different model/RV I didn't want. When I finally figured out from my original salesperson in Missouri that they couldn't get the original unit I was promised due to licensing transfer issues and a rep that had since sold it to a different dealership elsewhere in the country, I was promised my money back verbally by both the St. Louis salesperson as well as the Optimum FL office sales mgr. But a couple weeks later (now mid-August) I still hadn't received any word of the refund getting processed, and when I asked again, they told me they couldn't since it was originally paid to the Legacy group and referred me back to Legacy RV in Utah. Legacy then bent over backwards at first indicating of course they would refund my payment, but never got back to me. Neither Optimum nor Legacy ever refunded my money. Luckily, I used a credit card and my credit card company offers a dispute process to protect consumers from corrupt companies like these. I filed a dispute and finally got my credit card to refund my deposit, but never heard back ANYTHING from either Legacy or Optimum. Meanwhile, one of these companies still has $1000 for a product they didn't deliver. Beware of both these dealership groups.....would have left 0 star ratings if I could have....but 1 was the lowest I could set.

Legacy RV Center SLC. Never been so disappointed with a company. They start out great but then nothing but a bunch of used car salesmen. Lied about the price, options & magically traded the trailer we had looked at for another trailer. Tried talking to them & nothing but the cold shoulder. Said if it's not in writing there is nothing they will do about it. Will not return calls. Troy kept saying we are going to rock your world. Yes he did, right in the gut to lose faith that people can be honest. If you think you are finding a good company here, please think again.

Buyer Beware if you go to Legacy to shop. My wife and I recently bought a 2017 Riverstone Legacy from them. It is a $100,000 fifth wheel that is built by Forest River. When I did my walk through before taking delivery there where some issues that were pointed out to me by Legacy that I was told they had ordered parts for and that they would take care of as soon as those parts came in. They were minor issues that could be taken care of fairly easily so I felt it would be okay to have them deliver the unit to us before they were taken care of. We’ll that turns out to have been a mistake. We have received nothing but the runaround from Legacy. Which makes me wonder why they would risk their reputation on such minor issues? The only thing I can come up with is that they are trying to get us upset to try and get out of having to complete part of the deal we made when we bought the RV. When we decided to buy the RV from them we stipulated that we would need them to pull it up to Idaho Falls at a later date. They agreed to this so we bought the unit. It has been several months and we have contacted Troy our salesman and Matt the service manager several times and nothing has been taken care of. If this is how they treat a customer that spent $100,000 on a fifth wheel, how do you think they are going to treat a customer that spends even $20,000 on a RV? I’m going to get this taken care of even if it means I have to take them to court to do it. So if you don’t want to go through what we are going through you may want to re-think who you make your purchase from. I have an update to this review. I have changed my rating to 4 Stars from 1 Star. I would have given them a 5 Star rating if this had never happened, but it did. Troy has done his best to make things right and is who you need to talk to if you have any concerns or problems that need to be addressed. Troy thank you for all you have done!! 8/9/ 2019 New update: While dealing with Troy everything was taken care of. We decided to add a sound bar to to the TV in the bedroom, which is a simple job if you can get to the back of the TV. Well when we tried to get to the back of the TV we found out that whoever at Legacy had attached it had done a sub-par job of installing it. First there was a piece of 3/4" particle board that was suppose to be attached with 6 screws and it was only attached with one two of the others were just heads that had been left in the holes to make it look like they were actually holding the board in place. But whoever installed them had snapped them off and there was no screw going into the wood. I found that out when I took the TV and board off. Then I found out that there was 4 mounting points on the back of the TV that are suppose to be mounted to a bracket, but instead they had just drilled holes in the board and didn't install a bracket to attach to. Two of the mounting points had been over tighten and had been broken so there was no way to remove them, they just spun. One wasn't even used, instead they had taken a wood screw and gone through the board directly into the back of the TV. So there was only one that I was able to remove or had been installed properly. Well I tried to talk to Troy to tell him what I had found, but instead I ended up having to talk to Matt the general manager. He was trying to say it wasn't them that had installed the TV , but I told him there had been no TV in the fifth wheel when we looked at it because they told us they took them out to prevent theft, so I knew they had installed the TV after we bought it. He also was saying it wasn't covered because or warranty had run out. I guess he thinks them doing a bad installation doesn't matter because we didn't find out until after the warranty ran out. I told him I was going to write a review and tell people about their shoddy work , and he said go ahead. So if you do business with Legacy RV be aware they DON'T stand behind their work. And their GM doesn't care.
