Purchased a $124,000 2022 Grand Design 5th Wheel from the General RV in Akron, OH in Aug, 2021 and cannot get it in for service. We still do not even have an owners manual! To get answers or even a response, you have to contact management. Because service is so bad, they offer to send you the part so you can do the work yourself! Dealership says "they are swamped, they can't get service techs, they're overbooked, blah, blah, blah." Not buying that excuse anymore. You took our $$ just fine last August and promised that service would be better this time! Becky Slicker, our service coordinator, exhibits abhorrent customer service. She always has an attitude, and I've now been hung up on 2x. We live 2.5+ hrs from the dealership (closest Grand Design dealer to us), and they have never been able to accommodate our schedule - even calling appointments weeks out. There are one-year warranty items that need to be looked at before Aug. 5th (today is 6/13/22). Becky tells us she can't get us in until at least Aug. 1st. and that we'll have to contact General Design directly about extending the warranty if we can't get the unit in before Aug. 5th. NOT THE CUSTOMER'S PROBLEM! She also suggested that we consider taking the unit to a different location! So much for being "part of the General RV Family!" This is when I got hung up on again. The 5th Wheel was the second purchase from this location. We should have learned from the first experience. Sales is great, but service is non existent - other than two brothers, Broc and Brandon (excellent, if you can get them!). (This dealership sells the dream and then you live the nightmare!)
