Because we bought a trailer online through Gander RV in Eau Claire, WI we weren't able to trade in the current trailer we were using in Florida. When we arrived home to Wisconsin we called Gander RV to make arrangements to pick up our new trailer and bring the "trade-in" with us for them. The phone at Gander RV was disconnected. Gander RV in Eau Claire had gone out of business. NOBODY bothered to tell us considering we did not have the trailer we purchased in our possession and had already made a payment on it. After about an hour we called the Corporate office of Gander RV/Camping World. After explaining the problem to the woman who answered the phone she said she would transfer the call, and before she hit the transfer button I heard, "that's one of the stores that closed." Hmm, interesting huh? So after a discussion with someone at Corporate I was told I'd get a phone call from someone who could help. A couple days later I received an email from another Gander RV in Wisconsin and he was assigned to "buy" our "trade-in". (Chris from Rothschild was the 1st person that actually help us! He ended up being a lifesaver!!) We lived 3 hours from his location but only lived an hour from a location in Minnesota. It was arranged that we would be able to take the trailer to Gander RV in Forest Lake, MN. After the trade-in location was arranged there were a couple of conversations with Damir, Sales Manager at Gander RV in Forest Lake where he made the comment he was authorized to make a deal of $XXXXX. OK, great. I said we'd be up Wednesday, April 15. We arrived at Gander RV about 1030 on the 15th. We were given the run around for almost 5 hours total. First, although supposedly the sale was authorized for the amount agreed upon Damir wasn't authorized to write the check. He had to take pictures of the interior of the trailer and send to Corporate where someone would say OK and write the check. I get that. They'd never seen it, but it's pristine and looks like the day we bought it. So the pictures were sent and we were told we should hear from them in 10-15 minutes. Again, no phone calls, no check. Another call was made to Corporate by Damir. Now we hear the guy who was able to OK the condition and write the check was out sick. Really, one guy in the whole company was the ONLY one that could verify the condition? But give them another 30 minutes. This went on until 3pm in the afternoon when we were told they would have someone hand deliver a check to us tomorrow, April 16. Supposedly the CFO of Camping World is the ONLY person that can write a check. OMG, do you see a problem here? I don't believe these people any further than I can throw my truck. I honestly have to say I don't have a lot of confidence in that happening.
