Dunlap RV was started in 1994 by Brad and Renee Soldwedel. It was the passion for family camping that formally consummated the opening of Dunlap RV Centers. Dunlap RV started selling campers out of an old gas station in the center of town, in Dunlap, Tennessee. Over the past twenty years, Dunlap RV has grown into five stores in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia. Brad and Renee have now been joined by their children, who are an integral part of the day to day operations of the business. Dunlap has positioned themselves as a Jayco Gold Circle of Excellence dealer, at all locations, with 100% customer satisfaction. Brad's philosophy of treating the customer first, and the company second, still remains the cornerstone of Dunlap RV Centers. In January of 2018, Dunlap RV Center joined the Family RV Group network of dealers that includes the Colerain Family RV and Northside Family RV stores located in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Now nine stores strong, Family RV Group, can service our customers over multiple states. It also give the group great purchasing power. It's simple, our volume buying gives you the lowest prices.

Sales is great until you need help. We purchased our TT from Bowling Green Ky and picked it up at Ringgold. Service techs were confused on the new auto leveling system. The walkthrough was greatly lacking in specific information as they seemed to be clueless on this particular unit. Having taken it on our first trip and finding many issues with specific problems and details, which we spent $$ to get this extra care we were hoping to get the help we needed WHEN we needed it. Unfortunately the service personnel at Dunlap Rv are severely lacking in product information. Each dealer seems to want to blame the other and pushes off the responsibility to the other. May want to rethink purchasing from Dunlap Family RV.

I was going to wait to see how things go but why wait? Horrible customer service. They jumped through hoops trying to sell us the 5th wheel and set up delivery. Walk through was cut short. They hurried to get us out of there. Had 5 people working to get our $70,000 5th wheel hooked up to the truck. It took professionals 1 hour to get it done. The awning broke the 1st time we took it out. One of the bathroom panels was cracked. Hot water heater does not work. Took it to the dealer "Dunlap Family RV" because we have a trip leaving in 10 days. They said it would be a couple of days. Now we leave for our trip in 3 days and no RV. Do not get any return phone calls. They do not answer unless you block their number. Sent a text through their web site and received an immediate reply "We are currently helping other customers but will respond as quickly as possible." I have heard horror stories, but this is basic stuff that I should have fixed myself. We were basically forced into purchasing RV complete. Back to the hot water issue. They assured me it was fixed and when they tried to show us, somehow had left the faucet in the bathroom on and the plug in the bottom of the sink. Guess what? The bathroom got flooded and had I not walked in to check it out we would have never known. When we finally got to the campground, we still did not have hot water and they had also cracked the TV and never said anything. I know for certain because we used the TV and you could see a very distinct mark on the TV where someone had hit it, almost like they bumped it with the bathroom panel they did fix. Oh, back to the hot water. I could not believe I own a $70,000 5th wheel and still do not have hot water. I did some of my own trouble shooting and determined that the water coming out of the heater was only going to the outside spray/shower hose. I called the dealership and was told it had to be fixed by them or an authorized dealer or else it voided the warranty. That is a bunch of crap. I was leaving for a 10-day trip in 48 hours. I left messages for the dealership as to what I thought was the problem. Guess what? Nobody called me back until the next day. One decent tech left me a message. There was nothing they could do at that point and RV complete is not authorized to do anything like that. You know how hard it is to turn the water off and switch two hoses? Yep, it works like a champ now. Tried to use them to fix our awning because we could not get it to a dealership without it falling off. Have not been reimbursed for my $315 out of pocket. We will be suing to get that money back. I would never ever purchase anything from Dunlap Family RV. Do not believe the other reviews. My guess is that they are not legitimate and had "family" write them. I cannot be the only one with a miserable experience. If I wanted to be treated like this, I could have just bought from Camping World which is only 40 minutes from my house instead of 2 1/2 hours away from my home. The worst part, I even gave a couple of the techs/service people $100 each as a tip for their help and assurances we would be taken care of. This is the start of a campaign that I hope will point people elsewhere to purchase their RV's. Shame on me for purchasing new. I have even called Jayco direct on several occasions and they are absolutely no help whatsoever. Now as a continuation of the issues so far. The trailer brakes are not working properly, and I will have to spend money again out of my pocket to get it fixed. Do not get me wrong, we absolutely love our Highland Ridge Open Range 427BHS. I know there must be some good, upstanding dealerships out there but where? I hope if anything this review makes the Dunlap Family RV group try to do a better job. Hire better people, make sure they are trained and have a staff that makes you feel good about your purchase and really are there to help out the customer.
