Disclaimer: This website requires a star selection for all rankings. I only have experience with the Sales department (which I ranked a deserving five stars); I have not bought Parts nor had Service done at Bill Eads RV, nor have I had any repairs needed under the Dealership Warranty so I cannot provide a knowledgeable rating for those. Thus I picked a middle of the road three-star rating which should be completely discounted as irrelevant (there should be a N/A choice for the rankings).
Now on to the review. At no point did the Sales person, or the Finance person afterward, try to hard sell me on any upgrades. That was huge as it made for a very pleasant sales experience. I already knew going in which trailer I wanted (2019 Forest River Wolf Pup 16BHS). Hearing that I knew what I wanted, the sales person did not try to sell me on a bigger, more expensive model, but rather talked through with me any questions I had on the 16BHS. Also, and this is critically important, the sales person did not try to sell me a trailer that was too big for my truck to safely tow. He looked up my truck's vehicle tow rating (6,400 lbs for my 2016 Toyota Tacoma with tow package) which is more than adequate to haul the trailer's 3,900 lbs Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR - the weight of the trailer loaded to its max cargo carrying capacity weight). And he told me the owner, Bill Eads, does not sell trailers if there is not at least 1,000 lbs towing overhead on the tow vehicle, meaning if my truck could only tow 4,500 lbs, for example, then even though it would have been rated to tow the 3,900 lbs GVWR on the trailer, supposedly Bill Eads RV would not have sold the trailer to me but would have looked for a lighter trailer. While ALL dealers should be checking tow ratings against trailer GVWR, many only check against the empty trailer weight (no clothes, food, water, etc. loaded) which is a meaningless number as no one tows around a completely empty trailer all the time. And some don't even check for that! If you are at a dealer and they never once look up your tow rating and compare it to the trailer GVWR, run and go elsewhere. Unless you are driving up in a Ford F450 dually and are looking to buy a light trailer -- if it's that obvious you will be within your tow rating then I wouldn't fault them for not checking, although they still should!
We then went to Finance to sign papers, and again, there was no hard sell for anything. I was offered an extended warranty, which I declined and the Finance person immediately moved on. No "Are you sure? You really should because of x, y and z." How great was that? The Finance person then asked me if I was interested in taking a tour of a new camping facility and staying there for free for two nights (clearly a time-share type of deal). I again said no and again the Finance person immediately moved on. Try seeing if THAT ever happens when buying a car!
Upon pickup day we did the walk-around, also called the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) in the RV business. These are not free, and Bill Eads charges $400 which is on the low to average side. Other places charge up to $1000. The PDI is necessary, unfortunately, due to the decline in RV manufacturer quality control over the past 10 or so years. You do NOT want to leave the lot without a PDI as it is during that process you will discover anything that is not working, and you want those things fixed BEFORE you drive off the lot. The tech that did our PDI was very thorough -- there was not a vent, hole, switch or valve on the outside of the trailer that was not covered, and he went over every appliance and bell and whistle on the inside. Consequently, a year later, I have come across zero issues/defects with my trailer.
I highly recommend Bill Eads RV if you are in the greater Sacramento area.
