It doesn’t take long to figure out why the motto of Berks-Mont Camping Center is “Where Families Travel.” Family values are very important to the company’s co-owners, Henry and Joan Shellenberger, and this is one of the reasons this husband and wife team stepped into the RVing business. Henry feels that families need time away from the routine to enjoy the great outdoors. Joan and Henry’s own experience with family-owned dealerships proved key in determining the path they took. Joan was raised in an RV dealership family and Henry worked for a family owned dealership for 10 years. Henry believes that his “top-notch training at that dealership” along with an opportunity to take over a well-established family dealership in Boyertown, Pa. was the perfect formula for success. So in 1998, the Shellenberger’s purchased Reppert’s RV dealership, which was the oldest dealership in Pennsylvania. The Shellenbergers recognized the value of the dealer’s existing reputation and had every intention of building on it. Henry knows that it is important to maintain and keep that reputation alive. Henry feels that for new business owners, it is much easier to build on a successful business that already has a solid history rather than starting from scratch.

I would not recommend going to this place if you need a camper. I went a little bit ago to look at an R-pod that they had, it was a 2011 so I wasn’t expecting it to be perfect, BUT This thing was absolutely disgusting. I was apalled at the condition of this camper. I walked in looked to my right And almost vomited. The bunkbeds were crawling With bedbugs. Visibly crawling with bedbugs. And if the bugs weren’t enough there was also mold. And when we walked up to the camper it was beeping loudly, and they seemed to have no clue why it was beeping. I was apalled by the fact that there were bedbugs on the mattresses of a camper that someone was looking to buy. I was shocked that they didn’t bother to clean their campers before letting people see them. Plus this camper that was falling apart and filled with bedbugs was listed at $10,000. Little bit pricey for a camper that’s disgusting. I would not recommend going here at all. We saw multiple campers and none of them were clean or well taken care of.

Purchased a used expandable from here in March of 2019. I assumed that even a used camper would go through some sort of inspection be for being put out for sale. The only thing they used this camper for was stealing parts from it, and then trying to get me to pay for them when I bought it. Fast forward to 5 months and 5 camping trips later. I am forced to trade this in and take a hefty loss. Because of roof leaks that weren’t addressed properly, and bunk end doors that are rotting off the hinges, endangering anyone who is laying on them. I know that the camper was purchased AS IS. However the problem with the bunk ends made the camper unusable and unsafe. I originally posted this review to google, and was in contact with the owner. He seem quite disinterested in making customer satisfaction a priority and stopped all contact with me. Biggest mistake I have ever made Thanks to Hank for the lesson in how not to buy camper.
