Heartland Big Country reviews

I bought my 2023 Heartland Big Country 3200 RLK brand new in April 2023 and have had quite a few issues with it. To start with, the landing gear/leveling jacks have never worked properly, nor does auto level feature work, had it re-calibrated at the dealer and still doesn’t work properly. The ducted air conditioning system does not cool the RV very well, any temperatures over 95 degrees and the air conditioners cannot keep up (having two 15k BTU A/C’s this rv should have no problem keeping cool). One of the bed struts in the under bed storage area broke off the second time I lifted the bed to put something in that storage compartment. The shower liner began delaminating from the wall after three months of usage. The black and grey water tank vents were not hooked up properly and would vent those disgusting gasses into the RV. Some other small things I found wrong with the RV are as follows: The sound bar in the entertainment system was not connected, the handrail for the stairs began to come apart, the Winegard 5g WiFi system was not connected/working, wood trim for the faux shutter window in the bedroom fell off and hit me in the head while sleeping, and many pieces of hardware on the exterior of the fifth wheel have required tightening or have fallen off (wheel skirts, hand rail, reflectors, etc). Lastly, the refrigerator condensation drain doesn’t work, there’s always water all over everything in the fridge. For a fifth wheel that has an MSRP of over 100k (according to Heartland RV), I’ve been pretty disappointed. The one year warranty is a joke as well but at least Heartland covered most of the above mentioned issues before the 1 yr warranty expired. I recommend buying from an RV manufacturer with better quality control and better warranty. Show less

Heartland is extremely hard to deal with! The island wobbles after trying multiple time with no fix. Wall paper coming off all over the the unit. Won’t fix it! Stay away from this company! Horrible customer service!! Please buy from a different manufacture company. Thank Bob Phoenix Az Show less

Heartland will never get my business again. We bought our 2021 Big Country 3155RLK in March, 2021. It’s 24 months old, and it’s been in the repair shop for 13 months. We’ve experienced a problem (or 2, or 3) with nearly every system in the unit. Since it was built during the pandemic, perhaps the factory couldn’t get enough workers, and couldn’t train what they had. The demand for RV’s hit a peak about the time this one was built, and I am sure the factory simply decided to shove the crap out the door and let the dealers deal with the problems. Our dealership has over 200 units waiting to be repaired. The problems have included a severe hydraulic fluid leak, discovered on the way home when we first picked it up, a loose refrigerator that caused the trim above it to fracture, every interior wall has come apart (they are panels that are held together with staples but no glue), the television cabling has never worked correctly, all of the furniture has come unfastened from the floor (the couch moved around while traveling so much that the rear wall separated from the unit and the side walls came apart), and about 50 additional warranty issues. Our service advisor (no longer with the dealership) told us that these trailers are not really built to be hauled down the road. I asked her what part of “travel trailer” did she not understand? On a trip last summer, we stopped in Elkhart IN at the factory to talk about the quality issues, but the customer service people would not talk with us. Currently, it’s been at the dealer over six months waiting for parts and repairs. They’ve had it longer than we have. Show less

Great space and floor plan…kitchen in the middle separates the living area from the bedroom…provides additional quiet space when needed. Fireplace adds the warmth when needed…the stadium seats are heated and comfortable for watching tv. Show less

I lived in this RV for two years. I was stunned by the storage and how roomy it feels inside. All the slides work perfectly and it's so easy to maintain. I am a single woman who maintained this RV by herself. It's a great RV and it was a very nice place to live. I have recently moved to a new state and bought a ranch home and need to sell the RV. Bought 2014 had few minor things go wrong yes camping world is hard to deal with but all are unless you bring back to where you bought. Heard from inside that any camper made during covid are having alot of issues not having parts an workers just throwing together.. be aware!! Our next camper will be a Grand design solitude.. it's terrible how these companies can get away with this. Should be lemon law on these rv. Be alot of returns!!! Show less

This RV looks and feels new. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time living in it. Its been to Miami. Wilmington NC, Colorado Springs, and so on. If I don't pay attention, I will forget the 42-foot fifth wheel is behind me. It rides beautifully. I cannot say anything negative about the Heartland product. I had a 30-foot travel trailer prior and I liked it too. But, this one makes me feel like doing the RV thing. Heartland makes a truly great product. Show less

BUYER BEWARE OF THE LISTING IN MELBOURNE FLORIDA!!!! I booked my flight from TX to FL to go by this 5th wheel. He initially listed it for sale 4yrs ago. He was going to give me his banks routing# to wire the money but I wanted to go there and see it 1st. He made all kinds of excuses after I told him my flight was booked and said he has another buyer even though he told me he would give me his word to not sell it since I was booking a flight. Now I'm out the $300 I spent on the nonrefundable flight!!!! He also said he didn't have time to take it to an rv Park and hook it up so that I could see that everything worked. Show less

Pros: Love the Granite countertops and beautiful wood finished cabinets! The rear living area is spacious and cozy. Large bathroom is always a plus. More than ample storage inside and underbelly. Cons: None that I have found Show less

This five-wheel RV is perfect for long-term living. Open the slider out and the living room becomes very large. Her ceiling is so high, even with ceiling fans, you still feel like there's a lot of space. My favorite is the refrigerator, which operates in three ways. Gas, electricity and batteries. Show less
