In October of 2023, we were looking to trade in our Class A and move to a 5th Wheel. We went to General RV and worked with Salesman Daryl and Sales Manager Mike Chobak. We found a 5th Wheel that we really loved, a Big Country 4011RD. They brought it in to one of the service bays so we could get a better look at it. As we were looking it over, we noticed there a few spots of delamination. We were going to walk away from the RV, but Daryl had Mike Chobak come out along with the service foreman. Both Mike and the service foreman assured us that they could fix the delamination no problem. They were very convincing and we believed them. We went ahead with the deal with the understanding that the repairs would happen in the spring, when the RV came out of indoor storage.
We brought the RV back to General RV April 6th. They have had the unit for almost a month. At first, they stated they could still fix the delamination. Then it became they could fix the delamination, but they were going to have to cut into the fiberglass and make seams, then it became that they no longer could fix it because it actually was much worse than they thought. The last thing was they want to send it to an auto body shop. When I questioned on how they were going to fix it, Mike stated he had no idea. When I asked if the fix would be guaranteed he had no answers. We told him that was unacceptable, and we just want out of this deal. He said we could work a new "deal" and that he would take care of us because this is THEIR FAULT.
They will not payoff our current loan and let us go on our way.
When working a new "deal" on a different RV they are considering the Big Country as a trade and are not giving us payoff.
The new deal also included their PREP FEES again and they are not willing to negotiate a FAIR price.
This has been a nightmare!
I have filed a complaint with the BBB.

They did a good job of getting an RV ready for us and fix the issues that we noticed. We had a long drive up there since we live in Missouri so we were able to camp out at their dealership. They even went over and set it up and leveled it for us and made sure everything was on and the heat was working properly. They were not able to fix the Tower of power so they sent me the parts so I can replace it when I get home. They gave us a better interest rate than was promised when we signed our documentation and gave us a very fair price on our trade in. I've read a lot of bad things about general RV but our experience is very positive and we would reuse them again.

This review is for their service. I've been in a few times for warranty work which went well so decide to try them for service work. I asked for an estimate for a solar panel. They indicated there was a charge for the estimate. They called and told me which was $1800 was high (I had another bid for $1400, but I trusted them so told them to proceed. When I picked it up they handed me the bill for the solar panel and a separate bill for the estimate $90. I asked my service mgr, Adam, why that was charged since I authorized the work. He said "yeah we usually roll that in but decided to charge you." I asked him to waive it since I did the work they estimated and he said " my manager is in a meeting. That's just terrible policy and bad service. I'll not return and I suggest you look elsewhere for any aftermarket work if you but there.

Bought a 5th wheel new from this dealership. I did get a good price on the unit. What the dealer fsiled to tell me is this was a show demo unit. Items were exchanged from this unit to replace problems on other units. Case in point. Master bedroom closet doors did not match in color. Dealer had to restain and refinish one door to match the other. Still is slightly off. Unit advertised to have a king sized bed. Kingsized mattress on queen sized platform. An other dealer had to fix under warrenty.Dometic toilet in master bedroom bath would not hold water. Axis on flush valve was off center. Dometic authorized a replacement. Brought unit back to dealer for replacement. Told it was fixed and pulled unit to different State we relocated to. When went to use toilet it still did not hold water.Dealer told me Dometic only authorized ball and seal replacement even after Dometic issued for full replacement for new unit. Took to an other dealer who reolaced with an upgraded unit at my request and I paid for difference in cost. Was sold on getting a vent fan at walk through. Told it would have a remote. Dealer installed different unit with out remote. This dealer is good on sales and terrible on walk throughs and warrenty work.

SERVICE department is a JOKE! No quality control whatsoever. Purchased a Class A. Walkthrough was SO GENERIC & actually pathetic. Service Advisor lied about SAFETY issues with patriot brake system- said flashing “c” meant connected. It means COMMUNICATION ERROR!!!
Brand new Rig leaking ATF & jacks inop- repl leveling pump- STILL LEAKING FLUID 30 days later & jacks inop! Induction stove inop- NEVER PLUGGED IN! No QC on dealer prep.
Installed Patriot Brake System-never told us had to reset after turning vehicle on/off-$1000 worth of damage to brakes. They Lost ignition key- then asked me if I had hole in my coat pocket. Told me key cost $40, overnight charge $150. 10 days boondocking on dealer lot, had to ask 4 times for washer solvent- never added each time they had it in to be worked on. Walkthrough guy said a key was for safe- this rig has no safe! No explanation on mechanics at ALL. Told we had WiFi Extender- NOT TRUE- told we had solar panel- not true
STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!!!!
SERVICE DEPARTMENT WILL MAKE YOU REGRET BUYING YOUR RIG
