The queen bed in the back is very comfortable. The bathroom is tight, which is to be expected, but sufficient. My only issue with this rig is its drivability. It feels top-heavy and underpowered. Only got 10 mpg without towing anything.

I recommend the Jayco Melbourne 29D for those looking for a higher quality RV with nice features for traveling and camping. The RV also has a Jayco Melbourne 29D owners Club on facebook with over 120 members. This is nice for troubleshooting and general questions. Some models do not have a strong Facebook group support. The 29D is maneuverable compared to other Class C rvs, holds the road well, and has a smooth ride as it is not a massive "boxy" overly tall rv. It tows well with a jeep wrangler behind it. The layout is great for a couple or those with 1-2 kids. When the slides are closed you have access to almost all of the features of the rv with the exception of the undersink storage cabinet and drawers. The 29D is the previous body style before the Melbourne changed to a class C/B Sprinter ish style. Honesly the 29D is a great layout and great ride. Jayco made a decent product during and we have had very few issues with the RV. The most common negative trend with this rv is the leatherette seats don't hold up well and over time they need to be reupholstered. This is the case for the couch, dinette seats, and driver and passenger seats. However this can be overcome with a simple cover or reupholster. The spare table in the rv is great for creating additional workspace or dining space. Overall the rv is a great choice for anyone looking to have comfort while traveling or wants a dependable RV with limited maintenance compared to other styles. The fiberglass roof and body paint make maintenance a breeze compared to other methods of construction.

Purchased our 2022 Jayco (Mercedes) Melbourne 24L from a dealership in Winnipeg Manitoba. From the very first day, there were problems with the coach door, it would not stay shut. It even sprung open while driving down the highway. Took it back to the dealership, they did something with the door, so it would stay shut. However, on our first trip with this unit, the door handle assembly came off in my hand by the end of the first day. Soft white metal shaft stripped off the flimsy snap ring holding it together. Waited almost 2 months for a replacement door handle. In the meantime, I rigged up a zip tie to pull open the door latch. As well, the auto levelling system works when it feels like it. Worked after several incidents of turning the system on and off. Within the two months waiting for the door handle, went on a second overnight trip, 30 amp service stopped working. Service outlet & cord each tested good, power light indicator outside the coach was on, however, no power to any part of the coach. Plugged into a 15 amp, things worked appropriately, including the refrigerator. We of course didn’t even try the A/C or heat with only a 15 amp.
Got home & parked the unit. Went to start it up so we can take it in for the warranty on the door and the electrical problems, and the E brake would not release. It is still parked in my yard, an hour & 1/2 away from the dealer/service. Apparently I have to get a Mercedes technician to deal with THAT issue. Perhaps other Jayco/Mercedes units are better, but we’ve got ourselves a lemon.

This rv was perfect for our family of five. Small enough to make driving it a breeze but large enough that we were all comfortable while sleeping, eating or just relaxing. The convertible table bed was easy to use and the U-shaped designs was perfect to fit us all. There is plenty of storage space for all our things and we even could bring along our dog. We flat towed a jeep and there were no problems!

large living area with pull out queen bed and
swivel seats for more visitors. Will include additional bedding topper and any of the items that I have used when I went out. Stove tops have never been used. Just the microwave. It has a new windshield and new filters in all of the air conditioning areas.

But if you want to see the country and be efficient the sprinter is for you. You can park it anywhere and it leaves you more options to live like you want to.

Was second owner with 4000 miles on it. First owner sold it back to original dealer. Ate multiple batteries in coach and chassis within 2 years and 8000 miles. Slide did not work correctly. Leaky roof, auto step inoperative, backup camera out, refrigerator broken. All replaced by dealer. Some of which I had to pay for. Lots of electronic problems. Batteries would go dead in 2 days in use. Must run generator for hours daily. Uses up all the LP gas so you make trips to town. In storage, batteries die within a week, even with master switches off. Mercedes tech say it is a Jayco problem. Jayco says they can't find it. Sold it for what I had in it. No more Jayco or Thor products, too cheaply built. Dealer tried hard to fix everything but not successful.
