I recommend the Jayco Melbourne 29D for those looking for a higher quality RV with nice features for traveling and camping. The RV also has a Jayco Melbourne 29D owners Club on facebook with over 120 members. This is nice for troubleshooting and general questions. Some models do not have a strong Facebook group support. The 29D is maneuverable compared to other Class C rvs, holds the road well, and has a smooth ride as it is not a massive "boxy" overly tall rv. It tows well with a jeep wrangler behind it. The layout is great for a couple or those with 1-2 kids. When the slides are closed you have access to almost all of the features of the rv with the exception of the undersink storage cabinet and drawers. The 29D is the previous body style before the Melbourne changed to a class C/B Sprinter ish style. Honesly the 29D is a great layout and great ride. Jayco made a decent product during and we have had very few issues with the RV. The most common negative trend with this rv is the leatherette seats don't hold up well and over time they need to be reupholstered. This is the case for the couch, dinette seats, and driver and passenger seats. However this can be overcome with a simple cover or reupholster. The spare table in the rv is great for creating additional workspace or dining space. Overall the rv is a great choice for anyone looking to have comfort while traveling or wants a dependable RV with limited maintenance compared to other styles. The fiberglass roof and body paint make maintenance a breeze compared to other methods of construction.

We purchased this RV in 2012 from the original owner, never smoked in. We previously had a 38ft with 2 slides but since we were down sizing held out for a 3 slide coach. We are glad we did. The 3rd slide makes all the difference on livability. The quality of the Melbourne is much better than the cheaper coaches, the Ford V10 has plenty of horses and is called bullet proof by the reviews.

We traded our Melbourne 26A on this larger coach and love, love, love the extra space afforded by the opposing slide-outs in the living area. The aerodynamics of this coach make it easy to handle in a crosswind and when passing 18 wheelers. We spent time in the Rockies and the V-10 had no trouble climbing even towing a 4500 lb Ford C-Max. Lots of great memories “camping” with grandsons on several cross country trips. Motorized couch converts to a double bed; dinette converts to a short almost double bed. We camped in 45 of the &lower 48 states and were very happy with the A/C in the heat and with the heater when it was cold. The 5kw generator has been outstanding and the automatic hydraulic levelers are awesome! Plus, we think this is one of the very best-looking rigs on the road. Wouldn’t have anything else.

We had our Jayco Melbourne for 5 years and it has been a great Motorhome. It has many features that are only found on much larger and more expensive moterhomes. The overall quality has been outstanding with only a few small repairs needed. We love taking road trips where everyone can ride together and enjoy the journey. We have been from California to Key West to New York and had a great time. For the size and the price our Melbourne has been a great value.
