We purchased our 2000 Coachmen Catalina 279SA for three reasons: the open floor plan, the easy towability and overall quality of the trailer. We have not been disappointed! After 20 years of moderate use, we just as happy with the Coachmen today as we were when we first towed it off the lot. If we were to improve one thing, we would replace the carpet with hard surface floors in the main living area. Other than that, we have thousands if mules and years of great memories in the trailer and it's still going strong!

After 7 years both rear slide floors rotted the same way as the bedroom slide and coachman said it was from neglect and refused to send someone to look at it. If you are going to buy one of these units, make damn sure the slide seals are inspected every year because obviously they aren't sealed properly from factory.

We have a 2022 Coachman Brookstone 344fl. We purchased it brand new in Sept 22. It is the worst RV we have ever owned!!! The fist week we had it the A/C stopped getting cold, then the Fridge freezes up causing the fridge to stop cooling, heater keeps blowing fuses, the lippard auto level keeps giving error codes and keeps malfunctioning, one of the slides keeps trying to go in crooked, last month we were driving and the front black& grey tanks were falling out, luckily we caught it when we stopped for the night and were able to go to a truckstop repair and have a cross bar put on until we can get it into a shop, the we got parked and a few days later we noticed the back black and grey tanks are starting to fall as well. Numerous other problems with the interior.....It is a HUGE PIECE OF JUNK!!!! Cannot Wait to get rid of this RV!!!! Never again will I own a Forest River Brand, were very Brand loyal, but never again!!!

I guess they don't last well as they aren't built like they used to be.

We bought this 5th Wheel new from RV World in Bradenton, FL. It is a 42' Chaparral. After being in it for 7 months we have found most things are in good working condition. However, we have had a problem since day one that is still not working correctly and I can't imagine others don't have the same problem. It's their Furrion thermostats. Both for A/C and for the oven. They don't work!! We are currently on thermostat #5 and it doesn't work any better than the previous 4. I bought a digital thermostat so I could know the actual temp in this trailer. It never shows the temp as being anywhere close to the actual temp and therefore, doesn't turn on. We have had the actual temp as 84 degrees and the thermostat read 56 degrees. I have a picture of the thermostats beside each other where it shows 80 and 56 degrees. You can not get the A/C to come on and it just keeps getting hotter in here. This is thermostate #5. None of the others worked either. I couldn 't get RV World or Adontis at Customer Service Rep @ Lippert, nor the Maintennce Supv at RV World in Bradenton, FL call you back sand it was 84 and rising. I had to call an outside comopany to come in and get us a/c. He got it to run temporarily and it cost us $930 because my husband was getting ready for open heart surgery and not welll enough to get the unit into Bradenton, FL. RV World eventually got someone to come out and put in thermostat #5 but it still doesn't work properly. As I said, it will go to 56 degrees and stay there and no one has touched it Then you turn it off and play with it for awile until you get it back on. It's a Royal Pain. Also problem with thermostat in oven. You can't bake anything that needs to rise because you have to turn it to 490degrees then turn it down and you might get 325 or 370 whatever it wants to do. Also if you open the oven to do cookies, you lose the temp and it may go back up and it may not. And you burn the bottoms before the top is baked. So I only use for roast or meatloaf. Something that you can test to see if it's done. Don't bake any desserts. I've ruined too many. Cheaper to buy or do without. I have no respect for RV World in Bradenton, FL, Lippert Corp, or Forrest River. Lippert and Forrest River are the companies that bought Coachman. And don't care about their customers. I'd be happy to go into more detail about the thermostat situation. I've written many emails to these companies and they don't answer. Oh and the warranty isn't worth the paper it written on. You have to take you unit into them and they fix when they get to it. Can take 6 months. And you have nothing to use. In our case, we owned sinceOctober '22 and it's still not working.

We have camped in 20 degree weather and 100 degree with no issues stayed warm and cool when needed. Very nice floor plan. We upgraded the mattress and added a combo washer/dryer. . The only negative is the shower is in 2 pieces needs to be chalked at the seams... It is a little on the flimsy side but works. Also would have liked to have self-leveling option as well. We have used this 5th wheel for a pre-exploration for considering the possibility of full time. It has been a wonderfully experience and have decide to pull the plug and go for it. We will be upgrading but for anyone wanting a good fun part time 5th wheel this one is a great option for sure... Hats off to Coachmen for producing a great product...
