Bought this used with only 14000 miles on it. Propane line to the fridge caught fire while getting ready to go on our first trip. Was in the shop just short of 2 years to get fixed. (couldn't get parts). Have had to replace the windshield wiper pump, windshield, house batteries, Radio/backup and side view mirror monitor, the entire door locking mechanism. Now we see why the original owner got rid of it. This is just a money pit and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The size of our Vegas 24.1 is perfect for parking in metro areas, running errands then slipping back into the camp ground; easy to drive, it handles like a Suburban. The Ford chassis is awesome: the 6.8L V-10 engine pulls like a locomotive! Six speeds allow a gear for every hilly situation without over-revving or bogging the engine. Smaller, lighter weight class A on a proven chassis with great towing capabilities, and a low center of gravity for SUV-like handling, makes for an attractive package. Heated tanks allow easy 3 season use. Rear and side mirror cameras are great! Fold-down laptop space for the passenger is awesome! Wish every RV had it! Perfect size between teenie Class B and a 48-foot bus and handles better than a Class C ever could. The 24.1 is a great model because you can access the king-size bed on the road anytime without having to stop and extend a slide. Doors on the bathroom effectively double the size of the area when open and allow privacy, front and rear. Huge panoramic windshield, great swivel captain chairs up front, perfect drop down bed and couch that together sleeps 3 additional people. Outdoor entertainment system, outside shower, 3 burner stove, convection oven, microwave, great sleep area for master room! Plenty of room inside and out for two, we would never need anything larger. We owned an older Class C before and disliked the overhang at the front and sides of the cab, limiting the view. Shower is nominal (27” x 27”) and so is kitchen sink. Headlights and fog lights are almost impossible to access and provide truly inferior illumination, even after replacing all the bulbs with high-end, high-watt LEDs. The tiny diameter of the lights is the problem; a perfect example of functionality being sacrificed for styling aesthetics. And changing them to anything else would take some major fabrication way beyond the average RVer’s capabilities. Thor’s quality control also leaves a lot to be desired: fresh water tank hole shavings plugged the screen at the water pump reducing shower and faucet pressures to a mere trickle, kitchen faucet hold-down ring broken, factory worker pistachio shells found under the master bed, under the kitchen sink and even in the engine compartment under the doghouse!!! Outside are decals that split and crack within the first year because Thor was too cheap to paint them on or use UV-resistant decal material and clear-coat them with UV-resistant clear-coat, kitchen cabinets that won’t stay shut around a corner because of misalignment of the catches, wallpaper in the bathroom) that peels up at the first shower (who puts wallpaper in a hot humid wet area???), etc. Thor mediocrity atop a truly exception chassis and drive train. To me, it was worth it, overall, and I would make the purchase again. But plan on spending a fair amount of time and money to correct the factory’s inferior quality control.

I lived full-time in a 2016 Thor Vegas 24.1 for about 2 years on end. I absolutely loved it. I think this model is the perfect size for 1-2 people. Some of the construction was cheap or basic, which is why I would rate the overall quality slightly lower - there are some measurement imperfections, many drawer latches didn't line up well and had to be reconfigured, and the materials are lower-quality overall. However, this unit still held up incredibly well on the road, and at campgrounds. It's not very good for cold weather places, as the home is not very well insulated, and requires a lot of heat to stay comfortable. But in warm climates, it's an absolute dream. The size was great, and the RV is fully usable even when the slide-out is not extended. That is one of the best features of the floor plan - along with the bathroom doors being fully opened/latched to include the hall space, which basically doubles the bathroom size. Not many blueprints on the market that can do that. I love the bed arrangement, and the ability to join the beds together to make what's roughly equal to a king-size bed. Makes for a very spacious and comfortable sleeping zone. The doors on the bathroom also serve great for sectioning off the bedroom from the living space in case where are guests sleeping on the queen cot or drop-down bunk. I would definitely recommend this RV to anyone looking to live a minimized life on the road, or a maximized weekend warrior experience.

We love this RV! Drove in from coast to coast with never a problem. Love to incredible view out the front -- truly panoramic! Drive like a large pickup truck or Suburban; effortless, easy to drive, great turning radius, handles MUCH better than our old Class C , especially in crosswinds. This is the shortest Class A out there and the shortest RV to offer a King-size bed! The 6-speed transmission offers a gear for every need and the Ford Triton 6.8L V10 sings like an angel and gets 10-12 mpg in the 65-70 mph range, depending on terrain and altitude. The only dislike is the tiny projector halogen headlights; I replaced all my bulbs with high-output LEDs and it really helped, but the problem is the tiny diameter of the lights themselves (3 1/2" hi/lo and 2 1/4 fogs??? really?!). Some people add a 32" lightbar behind the grill to light up the road. Build quality by Thor is sketchy and factory help is non-existent. Why can't they apply exterior decals that hold up to automotive standards??? All said, highly recommended!

It has been a few years since my last post and I would like to give an update. Here it is: First it came with an after market Safe T plus rv steering stabilizer which makes it drive as good as my Chevy Silverado. I don't feel any trucks or wind (no bare knuckle driving which is great). I put a small piece of white tape on the front windshield to indicate where I am in the lane and that is all). I can drive with one hand and coffee/soda in the other. The Michelin tires that came with it had tire separation at 5 years and 15,000 miles that is probably why they don't offer that particular one anymore. It had great 10 mpg. I replaced it a softer Toyo tires which gets 1 less mpg but we can now better talk to each other and listen to the satellite radio (after market). We changed the house batteries also at 5 years with 100 ah AGMs. Mainly because the factory charger is also designed to work with AGMs and I can jumper connect to charge a 26ah AGM power pack (for remote cell charging and listing to same detached satellite radio) from a 12 volt socket connector from the batteries below. At 6 years the door lock broke (cast iron door pull broke and had to use needle nose pliers and clamp tight with vice grips to pull hard to open the door so I could replace the handle). We now carry our 500 watts of solar panels on my hitch carrier along with two mountain bikes and the body of a bike trailer for the dogs. We carry two 84 watt evap coolers (one on each side of the bed) and a table I made for sitting one of the coolers at the passenger window and an outside shade screen for the front window and inside solar sun screens on all windows during hot temperatures (especially needed when it gets over 110 degrees). The other cooler goes in our 9'x9' pop up canopy we carry in the back compartment. 90 percent of the time we boondock in national parks so we can use our 50% off senior pass. Typically now $10 to $12.50 a night. (I remember when it was $6). We changed out the Lead acid battery under the L shape couch to a 100ah LiFePo4 battery/1100 watt power inverter (cut the board on the L shape to get better access to the inverter and charge controller also under the couch) and carry along a 300 watt griddle and a 600 watt microwave when we boondock. (Generator use has restricted hours so carrying an smaller microwave comes in real handy). We have evolved over the years and we really love our 2015 Vegas 25.2. (My last RV was a 27 foot 1967 Dodge motorhome and this one's size really reminds me of it).

From day one it started falling apart. There were so many things wrong with it when we picked it up but they said they would fix under warranty. Problem is there are 61 repairs needed and they only fix 2 to 3 small things and don’t reschedule for several months. It the mean time more things break. We will be cut off from the warranty before it ever gets fixed. Main things: bathroom door fallen off twice while driving down the road, arm that holds bed “popped “ while driving down the road. RV is low on one side. Delivered with Fenders warn away from rubbing. Still have not fixed. Shower walls fell off today as we drove down the road. All the cupboard doors have wiggled out of their screws as they are made of pressed board. Repairs are worse that when broken. Mirror came broken and has yet to be addressed. Overhead bead installed crooked. Headliner looks like it was center to it by a 4!year old with safety scissors. WORST purchase I have EVER made. RUnN from this! It was sold as a class A/B but turns out it is on a C chassis. It wiggles down the highway like an overloaded model T escaping the dust bowl.

This is our first delve into the RV world. We all know that no matter what you buy, you're going to have issues...period. We setup camp in Naples last Friday evening, and while extracting the awning, it jammed. Can't drive with an extended awning, so we called CoachNet, a service we paid for, and they promptly told us that they don't kick in until after the 1st year. This was not explained to us at General RV, but that will be another review. What was nice, is that when I called Thor. Sean, thankfully answered, and told us that being a weekend, we should ask the RV resort for a local RV tech, and once fixed, send him the invoice for reimbursement. He gave me a reference number, and was very polite and professional. The local guy came out and we fixed the awning. Thank you Sean, and thank you Thor for backing your product. It turned out to be a great weekend after all!
