Downsized from a 36' Diesel Pusher. We were looking for something smaller more easy to maneuver. The Freedom Traveller is a Basic unit. I had heard so many bad things about Thor RV's that I went over it with a fine tooth comb looking for issues to nix the sale but I could not find anything. There are maintenance issues which FORD should fix on any F53 Chassis based RV - like how you add and check the oil, - how you check and add brake fluid, the location and varied types of fuses used . There were things that could have been done more like a Class A and less like a tow behind - like a centralized water bay and locating the fresh water tank fill on the same side of the RV as the city water connection. After driving 3000 miles I am happy with it.

My wife and I researched motorhomes for about 2 years before we settled on the 24FE. Overall its a great machine, perfect for two adults and the occasional grandchild. We especially like the floor plan. Has room to move around in, pretty good storage capacity, usable bathroom and shower, love the slide out queen size bed. Installed a second tv in the bedroom area so both tv's are tied into a central entertainment area over the entry door. Drives great and its a length my wife feels comfortable driving. Mileage is 10 miles per gallon as expected. Haven't towed anything yet but the hitch setup looks capable of towing most things. For the money it's a loaded machine. Last camping trip I took I woke up floating on my air mattress....no more of that nonsense. Comes solar prepped so I'm installing a solar panel next. Fuse panel is in a low position on the side of the bed but accessible. Highly recommend the Freedom Elite.

Purchased on September 4, 2023 since then it has been in my possession for 10 days as of October 25, 2023. Before it left the dealers lot we had no A/C in the cab. The brakes were mushy. I went back over to the office to report this and found the office closed. Now we had to drive it home as we dropped off our old camper to pick this one up. On the way home we found the headlights were not aligned. The low beams were only about 5 feet off the front on the RV and the high beams were not a whole lot better. When on high beams on coming traffic did not flash there light for me to go to low beams. I took it back to the dealer 7 days later because I felt it was unsafe to drive. It sat at the dealers for 20 days before they did anything, and that was after I made calls to Thor, camping worlds owner. They said it had to go to Ford for the A/C, Brakes and lights. So the 3 of them sent it to a ford dealer 3 1/2 hours away. (AS no local dealer would work on it) and advised me I had to pick it up. So after another 17 days I picked up the camper from ford. A/C was fixed brakes checked and working fine. Headlights not adjustable per ford. So get it home and decide to see if I could fix the lights. I take off the shroud around the light and guss what there are the adjustments for the headlights. So I contact the dealer and offer to fix the lights for the cost of the fuel for the trip which totaled $203.76. They owed me 30 gallons anyway as tank was not full at pick up time. So with the 30 gallons off the bill it would be $118.63 for my time to fix the lights. Camping world offed me a $50.00 in store credit. So I called Thor and they told me they would not pay me to align the headlights I had to take it back to the dealer and they would fix them. This would put me back to square one as the dealer already told me they could not fix them. So in addition to the above we found before we took the R/V home the door latch dose not open correctly you have to yank on it for all your worth to get it open. The left mud flap was loose. Night stand on right side of bed was loose and sealer at wall was cracked. Wall top next to microwave was scuffed up. Door under bed for access to water tank was damaged on the bottom. Ladder for bed over cab was missing. Both outside mirrors were scratched up. Then to top it all off we get it home from ford and level up and run the slide out and we have a water leak coming out under the kitchen cabinet. Also another leak on the floor under the center of the window on the back wall. All this additional stuff is being ordered or will check it when we go back for the replacement parts. So with all this on a brand new Thor freedom traveler a30 we are out at the least $153.76 more to own it. Along with I have to repair my headlight issue. Now keep in mind I'm 76 years old and 100% disabled veteran. I would not recommend buying any Thor Product or dealing with Camping World dealers

What a piece of JUNK. It probably would be easier to say what does work on my little over a year old 2022 Thor Freedom Elite. The expression lipstick on a pig is what you get with a Thor Motor home. They look nice on the showroom floor, but you are looking at the lipstick. Own it for a year, use it a couple of times and the terrible quality of materials and the shoddy workmanship shine through.
The propane gauge reads empty when the tank is 2/3 full. The black water tank reeds full when it is less than 1/4 full. The formica counter top and table are delaminating. The table is broke again - fixed twice before. The paneling is so cheap (more like cardboard than real wood), and so poorly stapled that it is literally falling off the walls. Screws that were screwed into the super cheap walls have all ripped out and there is no good repair because the panel boards are paper thin and the cheapest quality wood like material they won’t hold a screw even with epoxy or wood glue. The blinds for example are literally falling off the walls and you can’t get the screws to hold by any means. The plastic film (super cheap) is pealing off the walls in numerous places, because the glue they used can’t take the heat of Arizona. The microwave nearly fell out of its hole in the cabinet when its screws fell out. The shower floor support has given way and drops 2 inches ever time you step on it. They forgot to seal some places around the shower and there is water damage where they forgot to seal. The refrigerator door latch does close ever time. The bathroom door doesn’t close unless you move the wall back in place that holds the door - the wall literally moves back and forth. The opening roof vents are so cheap plastic and the plastic has already failed. Talking with another owner they said they carry two spares and a roll of duck tape. That you need the duck tape because the two spares are not enough if you get a light hail storm it will crack all the vents and you get water everywhere if you don’t tape them up. The other two plumbing vents (again such cheap thin plastic) have already broken off in the wind.
We were lied to when we were told Thor was a quality built motor home. There is no quality in any aspect of this piece of junk. Just try using the shower head. The motor home sites tell you to replace that right away as they can’t even put in a shower head that works.

I love this RV. I use to drive school busses but this RV is actually fun to drive . I live in the Sierra foothills with lots of mountain curves and steep hills and she mauvers great.
I've been evacuated a couple of times due to our forrest fires and this RV has been a life saver for me, literally.
I've always wanted solar but I've never been in a situation where I didn't have shore power.
Being evacuated for 2 weeks I would definitely change the toliet to a composting system. After being settled in my boondocking area I'd have to pack up or move items to drive to dumping station.
In September 2022 I had new house batteries and the appliances checked so she's ready for camping.

I would add more electrical outlets, removing the chair & having the passenger seat swivel.

Bought the 2017 Freedom Elite 23H from a dealer as a consignment.
Pros: It drives very smoothly & fits anywhere. There's always availability for this compact size. I did not want an extention due to fear of potential issues. It is comfortable driving cross-country full-time , 2 + year, 2 adults & a large 70 lb dog. No issues.
Cons: It needs more electrical outlets. I would extend floor space by removing the single chair; allow the passenger seat to rotate ; add a table that folds up to use as needed, like the extension attached to the stove. The overhead bunk is being used for storage only because it would be troublesome for me to frequently use the restroom at night. The bed is full size 75"x54" & the mattress has been replaced to firm memory foam. The dog likes having the dinette as a bed which is comfortable for both of us to snuggle. I didn't want to give a low factory warranty / support a low score to drive the overall score down but we haven't used nor needed it. Awning has been sufficient for shade. Storage has been ample for me but not for someone with hobbies such as painting & guns. If you only have clothes, toiletries & laptops then it's roomy.
