Starcraft AR-ONE MAXX Travel Trailer reviews

For a relatively small travel trailer, my family loved the versatility of the AR-One Extreme. We mostly used it in Colorado and Utah, often in dispersed camping locations (no hookups). The "Extreme" features of this AR-ONE mean the axel is lifted for better clearance on rough roads, and the underside is covered for protection from the elements and offered a bit more insulation on cold nights. We used all its features, from the heater to air conditioner, and really loved the ability to switch the fridge from electric to gas. This allowed us to boondock for up to 4 days a at time as a family of 3 without running out of battery power (and no generator!). The grey water tank is rather small, so we'd have to empty it out if we washed dishes in the sink, otherwise it was fine for weekend use. Show less

We love our 2017 Starcraft AR-ONE Maxx 27BHS. If course you will have your minor issues when you first purchase but warranty covered it all. After 4 years is time to replace the awning but we live in windy Oklahoma and camp in Missouri. The layout is perfect for my wife and I and our 5 grandchildren. Plenty of room to walk around. Upgraded my camper with all the bells and whistles.Found inside wall water leakage interior front right. Very bad craftsmanship. Should have never happened if they would have done this right. They just nailed that camper together. No proper or very cheap sealant used on the outside and inside. Very cheap made. Make sure if you buy one of these to have a pro on your side to check all the interior equipment and all exterior sealant. Jayco took over starcraft. Show less

Excellent traveling for 2 or 3 people and a small pet (but no more). Packed with enough convenience for traveling self-contained across the country during the pandemic. My husband reported it was the best vacation he ever enjoyed and that was traveling with two dogs and a mother-in-law! He had to handle all of the mechanicals and reported that it was all easy to figure out and the manual adequately covered our needs for what we didn't know how to do. Show less

Overall not a bad camper. The issue I would like to discuss is how to prevent mice from getting in? When they build the RV to put in plumbing, heating etc they oversize the holes and how mice are getting in. As they are building the RV unit it is easy at that stage to apply rodent proof spray foam installation to prevent mice from getting in. I just found another hole they were getting in and it was at the heater unit, had to remove the sofa and heater cover. I would have never known it was there unless I took it apart. I don’t know about anyone else but rodent droppings are disgusting and they can do a lot of internal damage. There is no reason in my opinion that they are not able to correct this issue. Sent the manufacturer the same feedback and waiting for a reply. We pay a lot of money for a new camper and it should be rodent free. I have pictures but I don’t think I am able to post them here. I'm not liking the step up in the tub/shower.I wish they only had a shower.feels to soft.Miss having a sink would give up part of the closet to have sink... No closet rods in the other two closets.so all you can do is stack clothes. Had to flip the bed lifts to get it to stay up. Then discovered the bed pulled away from the wall,the framing screws were to small... Now a problem with the siding that it has buldge in one spot.I know its not from leaking it does not leak..nor can I afford to fix this or fix it on my own..So really check them out.before buying. This has been a very good trailer for us. The only quality issue I had was a slightly bent wall stud and loose wall covering that storage in the outdoor Texas sun/heat did. All other systems have worked well and I am especially glad for all of the upgrade packages that have proved their worth. Towing has been great! Show less

It’s been a great camper but we have never used the water tank or pump. We have a situation where we will need it and when tested, the pump runs but pushes very little water. It seems to be pulling air from someplace. Can’t comment on warranty, never used it Show less

My experience with this RV has been very positive. It is the perfect size for a couple to get away in. It tows very well with an SUV and the fact that it includes an anti sway stabilizing system makes driving with it a pleasure. Very easy to maneuver and back into spaces and camping pads. If it wasn't for my wife's poor health, we would be enjoying it for many years to come. Show less

Had trailer 3 years. Water pump had to be replaced even though it was never used. $200 Ceiling lights burnt out every year. StarCraft was unwilling to assist with cost of replacement.
