I picked up this camper on January 14th, 2023. I've got to say it rides so smoothly on the truck you'll almost forget that it's there. It does not cause a huge drain on gas mileage. It also does not work. The 1st problem was the diesel Heater would not come on. After 10 attempts it finally did come and it clicked off at about 68ﾟ which is where I had set it. But then it never came back on again. Because the heater did not come back on again the lithium ion battery shut itself off because Lithium ion batteries will not work below 34ﾟF. Once the lithium ion battery ceased to work come up then the heater would not come back on again because it needs an electrical Ignition. I plugged in the camper and went out and bought a small space heater to heat my very expensive camper which I am now having to buy a space eater for. Got it warmed up enough to wear the battery would come on again but now the space heater would not work again. Called customer service after spending a couple hours looking for their phone number And was basically told that I need to call the people who manufacture the heater to see if they can get it to work. I was also offered the option that I can go on YouTube and watch videos about troubleshooting the heater to make it work again. I paid a lot of money for this camper I bought it brand new. I did not expect to have this many problems. Depending on where you live it is not always easy to find an authorized dealer to work on your scout camper. I am told that 1 option for the battery is to get a heating pad and plug it in to your battery thereby using up your battery power to keep your battery Warm enough so that your battery can stay powered long enough to keep your heating pad heating your battery. Since most eating pads in America click off after a certain number of hours as a safety feature you will need to babysit your battery. You will need to go out and unplug your heating pad and plug it back in. Of course another workaround could be that you get 10 hot water bottles and you use the propane stove to heat hot water and you fill the hot water bottles every few hours. And just stay in bed. I have now purchased a Dickenson heater to the tune of about a $1000 to put in my camper and was told by scout that this is a good idea because I can customize my camper to suit my main need is that I wanted the camper to work. But OK I am out a $1000 for a heater and I'm not sure yet how much the installation will be or even if installing it will void my warranty... Not that the warranty was doing me much good. After I install the $1000 heater I imagine that I will need to get a deep cell battery And have the entire unit rewired so that I have a battery that works in the cold. If you're never going to be anywhere that's very cold, or if you're always going to have shore power to plug in to...this may work for you. As for me I currently feel that I have bought a gigantic paper weight for the back of my truck. Show less

Love the flexibility of this truck camper. Can park anywhere, Suitable for almost any campsite or remote area (fully off grid capable with solar and generator capable). Can easily remove from truck and level with 4independent electric jacks. This camper has been well maintained and is in excellent condition. Show less

Good camper, but their support isn't good. You're on your own after you purchase this camper. When asking for framing diagrams, or pictures, so I don't have to peal back panels looking for the frames, none were forthcoming. Just one example. Show less

This is a perfect off the grid camper. We've used ours many times for dry camping both while hunting and also when exploring the great outdoors. The versatility of being able to "detatch" the camper nd leave at the site or campground while using the vehicle to enjoy scenery or be mobile while running around the area has been great. The camper also has cold weather curtains when it get cool out, and an outdoor shower to rinse off either people or pets. In a word its been great! Show less

Purchased this RV used, in very good condition. We live in a four season climate with winter being very cold. We have stayed in this camper with temperatures reaching 13 deg. F and were very comfortable. We love the quality of the construction, cabinets and storage. The aluminum roof in our climate gives us piece of mind. Would prefer the aluminum siding over the fiberglass, for future repairs and any delamination issues that might arise. Ours came wired for a/c and generator with switches to start / stop in the kitchen area as well as a solar panel for our remote camping adventures. We love our camper!!! Show less
