One day after the camper was set on our permanent spot we noticed the floor was separating. My husband called the dealer and someone came to look at it. The only thing that the warranty would allow for repairs was to sand the plywood section that was sticking up. The repair man said that the plywood was actually breaking apart, but Salem won’t replace it. We now have two other spots in our floor that are doing the same thing. In addition to this, the shelving in the pantry is falling apart and the shelves are falling. We only have spices on these shelves. This camper is a year old. Disappointed in the quality of this camper, and incredibly disappointed in the lack of cooperation with the warranty.

This RV was an awesome camper. It's a full-length bumper pull toy hauler. The best thing about this unit is the floor plan. It literally has 2 separate bedrooms each with a queen size bed, and each room with a real door to separate the spaces. This is perfect for camping with kids and guests. The second bedroom converts to the garage and it also can be arranged as 2 couches, a table and benches or 2 twin beds. Each bedroom has direct on-suite access to the bathroom. This unit also has a slide in the main living area created a spacious feel. Many bumper pull toy haulers do not have a slide. The outdoor shower is convenient for rinses off or washing feet before entering have having fun and getting dirty. This camper over all was excellent and I would highly recommend it.

We love the layout and interior finishes of our new Shasta, however there are a lot of parts that have been cheaply made or assembled. Our RV has already been in the shop a few times this year for warranty work. Our electric water heater board was faulty, our sink drains were not installed properly and caused leaks, and the seat backs of our dinette were not screwed in, causing tears in the fabric. The exterior shower was not assembled properly, so that was another leak we had to deal with. Our inside shower has recently started leaking from behind the insert and the siding has also separated from underneath the steps. Last night our heater stopped working, so we will need to bring it back for more warranty work. Although I love the camper, I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the assembly in the factory.

Custom build 40 foot 5'er triple axle built in March this year. Built with a wheelchair lift for a special needs daughter. Major systems failed or don't work. Leveling system DOA, had to work directly with manufacturer of system to resolve. Improperly installed at plant. Awning tube was bent on first deploy, would not retract. Missing trim strip, holes in floor to under components reveal daylight... no sealant to keep outside out, including rodents. Stench in bath from bad air admittance valve. Water leak under kitchen sink. AND the piece de resistance: the lift doesn't retract properly. The lift manufacturer will not work with me because I'm not a certified repair facility.... And in all this, RBD has failed at every step. They will not fix a bit of it because their warranty is only on what they build, not the components installed. YOU have to work with manufacturers of said parts and then either fix yourself, or pay to have repaired. Overall construction is no better than a Jayco or Forest River, so at least you will know what you are getting. If you order a Ford with a Bose sound system, at least Ford will interface with Bose on your behalf to find a solution. RBD will not support you after the sale. Sales walks away, parts and warranty will hang up on you. The owner, Andrew Rush could not give a darn if you like it or don't: he doesn't care. If you want a custom build, there are other manufacturers that can and will do it. If you are in an RBD unit (off the showroom floor in Eastern states) that is letting you down... well just know you aren't alone and hopefully you will find a decent repair shop, because you are going to get to know those folks on a first name basis. Avoid... Just don't go there. I wish I had this advice when I started because I basically have a 18k paperweight.

NuCamp TAG is a very high quality teardrop camper. My TAG is 3 years old but looks and feels new--still very solid and no repair/maintenance issues. I am selling the TAG so we can purchase a larger unit--either a NuCamp TAB or a larger trailer. The very light tongue weight and total weight make this camper extremely easy for one person to hook-up, tow, park, level, and move around. It fits easily in my garage for storage. The quality of the cabinets, tv/stereo/speakers, AC, Norcold refrigerator/freezer, stove, and interior/exterior finishes is very high and durable. I camped primarily in cool to very cold weather including several nights around 15-20 F. The unit heated easily with a small ceramic heater. Insulation of windows and walls is excellent both for heating/cooling and for sound. I followed the manufacturers recommendation to leave the fan vent and/or a window slightly open at night and experienced zero condensation issues. Day shades also serve as effective bug screens. My TAG worked well for dry-camping/boondocking. Even with freezer running, battery and single propane tank were sufficient. Stargazer front window is a real plus--fantastic shows on starry-nights and, once I was ready to sleep, just pull the blackout shades down and it is totally dark inside. Kitchen is tight but adequate--a big step up from tent camping but it is still an outdoor cooking experience. The main tradeoff with a small teardrop is inability to fully stand-up inside, minimal floor space when you use the queen mattress, and no toilet. I found it easy to get dressed inside either partially laying down or on my knees, but it is more "tent-like" than "RV-like". I preferred a twin mattress to a queen so that I had more floor area for the heater, a shoe/boot tray, etc. Even when the queen mattress covers the entire floor, there is a lot of storage inside (two large 2-door cabinets, 2 cubbies, storage area below and shelf across entire headboard, and really huge storage area under both floor panels that are easily accessed without removing the mattress) and storage in kitchen area. I packed a portable toilet in my truck bed but never used it as there are plenty of options in parks, campgrounds, etc. The TAG is ideal for solo camping or for a couple that is really comfortable in a tent-sized environment or for taking one child/grandchild along. For those interested in a teardrop, I highly recommend NuCamp TAG and TAB models.

I wan to share our experience with the TAB and NuCamp. We downsized to the TAB from a 24 foot Mallard for the ease of towing and set up as well as the fiberglass and Azdel siding- what we considered leakproof. We tow with a 4 Runner and can’t even feel it. This is a perfect size for two on the road, we have been to Key West three times, Cross country, probably 15 times to the outer banks. Not a hiccup! Last year on our way back from Niagara Falls we noticed a softness in the floor, very disturbing!!! What we found was a leak through one of the tail lights and a SIGNIFICANT amount of rot- the floor was gone. We called NuCamp and after 3 months we were able to schedule a service call at NuCamp at their Ohio factory. We delivered the 320 back to the factory this past January, in the snow. Well to make a long story short, WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED, NuCamp replaced the entire floor, repaired our sofa, re-wired the Alde, installed new door stays, installed new vinyl flooring - ALL AT NO COST!!!!! Yes, the NuCamp trailers are a little pricey- But I defy any other manufacturer to provide this level of quality service to their customers. I just friggin love this little trailer, and I just friggin love NuCamp!!!!!!!
