The Ultimate Off Grid Travel Trailer If you’re looking for the ultimate off grid travel trailer, don’t even look elsewhere… why? Read on! It’s always been a dream of mine to drive around the country visiting the National Parks and remote locations with my dog. My father and I used to hike to remote locations where no else was around for miles, so my #1 requirement was a trailer I could take off the beaten path as much as possible and survive as long as possible without needing to go back into civilization. I knew I didn’t want to be parking in campgrounds, parking lots or KOA’s. Sometime in 2018 I started searching the web for “off grid travel trailers” and I remember Living Vehicle popping up in my search results. This looked like the ultimate dream trailer, but I made myself click away when I saw configurations pricing out as much as a real home. I looked at Earth Roamer (some models even more expensive than Living Vehicle), they looked cool, but didn’t have the tank capacities or maneuverability, and many said they spent more time being repaired than being used. Then I came across the Black Series HQ19, a compact off road travel trailer at a decent price. I took the plunge to see if I really would like this ‘off grid’ camping experience enough to invest further. After a few trips with Logan, I was hooked. I was able to last a few days with short showers and a generator… but it soon became apparent I wanted to stay off grid longer than this fun trailer could last… it didn’t have the tank or power capacities to last more than a few days, and even though it was just me and Logan, it felt cramped and uncomfortable to ‘live in’ for a long period of time I found myself staring at the Living Vehicle website again and again, and decided to reach out to Matthew and Joanna (I’d already taken a brief tour on a trip to LA) to see about finally getting my dream. I don’t have much patience for ordering and waiting, but as luck would have it, a pre-ordered vehicle was coming available. It was a sign. I bit the bullet and bought it. It’s been the best purchase of my life. Everyone who steps foot inside is in awe. Every little detail has been thought out. The moment it was delivered Logan and I took it on a 6 week journey up through the Tetons, to Yellowstone, Glacier, into Canada through Banff, and then back. Not once during those 6 weeks did I feel cramped or uncomfortable. It’s like living in a small apartment (some friends have commented it’s more spacious than their New York apartment!). I had a dishwasher, washer and dryer, and a spa bathroom. Instead of feeling the need to get home, I actually felt the opposite, I didn’t want to go home, I wanted to stay driving around with my Living Vehicle even longer. I opted for the “Mobile Office” configuration because I wanted to be able to work off grid and feel like I had my full office with me. I have two monitors, speakers, and Starlink with internet as fast as home. I can work in the morning, hike in the afternoon, and chill with Logan on the bed at night watching movies in the home theater (which by the way, sounds better than my own home setup.) Since a kid I’ve been fascinated with campers, trailers, and RV’s, always wanting one… I’ve had the opportunity to consider and look at RV’s and motorhomes, trailers, Airstreams, you name it. I’m convinced the Living Vehicle is the perfect balance of size, portability, and versatility. With a motor home you’re stuck in one big huge vehicle you can’t take a lot of places. I can pull my Living Vehicle almost anywhere (check out the pics), detach, and run an errand if I need to with the pickup truck. I ran into an Earth Roamer in Yellowstone who wanted to tour my Living Vehicle and even he was in awe and wished he didn’t have what he had. He seemed to agree with me, his rig was just too big. On one excursion I met some friends who had purchased another ‘off grid’ travel trailer that was already having problems despite being brand new. Their service department was backed up, hard to deal with, and rude when asked questions. I’m happy to report that the very few times I’ve needed assistance with something (there is always going to be a part that breaks or comes loose in pulling a trailer miles around the country), the team at Living Vehicle has answered every call on the first ring and even sent parts overnight with no questions asked. Their service department is second to none with feature requests and repairs. In my year owning the Living Vehicle we’ve come to feel like we’re part of a family, and are already watching the site thinking of trading in few a new model in several years. I can even see myself retiring in the future, selling my home, and living full time travelling around the country in my Living Vehicle – really LIVING in a VEHICLE. Earlier in my review I mentioned that full featured LV’s can start to price out the same price as small homes… and after spending close to a year in

Having lived the off-grid RV life for five consecutive summers, I was extremely impressed when I toured the Living Vehicle RVs. They offer everything and more to make your traveling adventures easy and enjoyable. Some of the features that most excite me are the one-touch auto leveling system, the 72kwh of battery storage and 18kw of inverter power, and the optional water generation system (wow!). Believe me; these things matter when you are in the middle of nowhere! And the simple yet luxurious aesthetics made me feel at home. The large windows, walnut and stainless finishes, the fabulous spacious rain shower with a skylight, the bed that turns into a workstation, the closet and storage size, a washer and dryer, and so many functional yet beautiful features made me fall in love. And the deck and awnings make an inside-outside living so easy. I just wanted to make a cup of coffee (or pour a glass of wine) and stay awhile. When I start RVing again, I know what I'll be getting.

I have lived and traveled full time in a Living Vehicle for over a year, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Before I had an LV, I lived full time for a year in a brand new 30ft class A, and I was constantly having problems with it. Everything from the slide breaking multiple times to water entering the unit when it rained. I felt like I was driving a paper mache sculpture on top of a chassis. The LV is so much more robust, and is built to better standards. Have I had problems with the LV? Yes, but they have been very minor, especially considering I have towed it for about 12,000 miles around the country. I have only had to take it to a shop once, and that was for an oven issue, which was not Living Vehicles fault. Speaking of problems, this is where Living Vehicle shines above their competitors. The customer service is second to none. You get a dedicated representative to help you with any problems you might have along the way (thanks Rob!). They will help you with any issues, and if they can’t solve it, they will find an expert, who can. They even flew someone out to where I was camping to help solve an issue one time. Enough about problems. My favorite part of the LV is the layout. The Living Vehicle team has really done an amazing job of maximizing the space. My previous class A had a super slide, and it feels like the LV has more space even though it doesn’t have slide outs. The living room area is very comfortable and gives you the option of having a table or easily converting it to a lounging area or bed. The kitchen layout is great with plenty of storage, and being able to move the island around really gives you lots of options to maximize the space even more. My favorite part of the kitchen is probably the dishwasher especially since I was the dedicated dishwasher in my previous RV. The bathroom is amazing, and is true luxury for an RV. I am 6’2”and actually fit and have elbow room in the shower. In my class A, I could barely turn around in the shower, and was constantly hitting my elbows on the walls and ceiling. The bedroom is super comfortable with tons of natural light from the windows and skylight. It has a good amount of storage from the full size closet, lots of drawers, and the under bed storage. Also, I really enjoy having the washer dryer combo. No more hauling clothes to the laundromat and trying to find quarters. The LV really feels more like living in a modern studio apartment than an RV. It is very bright and light compared to the usual drab browns and tans of a traditional RV. The outside of the LV probably has my favorite design feature which is the drop down porch. The sliding door really opens up the space on the inside, and gives easy access to the outside area essentially creating another living space. It also creates a “fenced in” area for the dog to hangout outside. The outside storage is plentiful with large pass through compartments, and the outdoor shower is a must for washing the dog, feet, and other dirty things you don’t want to take inside. I have not used the solar power to it’s full potential, but it is super nice to have. Especially, when you are in the western states with lots of sun, and great for overnight stops because you don’t have to hook up. The solar power probably comes with the biggest con that I see with the LV, which is the weight it adds. The LV is very heavy, and I have been reluctant to take it very far off grid because of this. Once you add the water you might need, it becomes even heavier, so I feel the weight is the main drawback. That might just be me being too cautious, and maybe the F-350 can actually handle it. In closing, you can’t go wrong with a Living Vehicle. The quality and customer service are outstanding. One last thing I will mention, which could be a pro or con depending on your disposition, is that you will have to talk to almost everyone in any RV park you go to because everyone wants to know what it is. Come to think of it maybe I will try getting further off grid!

When we sold our Sprinter van, we looked widely for a travel vehicle with more space for longer trips. After looking at many trailer options and several Class As, we decided on Living Vehicle for its incomparable features and benefits and purchased a used unit in 2019 to “try it out” as new RV users. After thoroughly enjoying the travel freedom in our first Living Vehicle in the early days of COVID, we decided to custom order a new LV for its latest innovations including solar energy for off-grid living, energy integration for back-up solutions on the road, performance towing, automatic leveling for set-up ease, a mobile office and onboard connectivity and a composting toilet as an option in the Spa bath (for water conservation while boondocking). We can say conclusively that these newest features have greatly enhanced our travel experience. Considering the beauty and exceptional fit and finish of the marine grade materials (think fewer problems and trips for repairs) as well as the newest innovations, we believe the value of the Living Vehicle to be unsurpassed. We appreciate all the ways Matthew, Joanna and Wally, along with the entire LV team, have responded to our needs so quickly and thoroughly. Living Vehicle took care of all the details seamlessly selling our first unit and ordering/purchasing our new one. Although COVID supply chain issues unavoidably delayed its completion, our new 2022 LV exceeds our expectations in every way. It is so thoughtfully and beautifully designed with space in all the right areas – luxurious and easy living away from home! We are also extremely pleased with their post-production service team at Elite Coach in Valencia, CA. Their attention to detail and excellence is a perfect solution for any additional service or installation (they installed custom sliders for fast and easy access to everything in the storage bays).

During a 40-year anesthesia practice and 20 years of RV life, we’ve also owned seven other RVs – 5 were bumper pulls, and 2 were Super-Cs. It’s easy to say that our 2022 Living Vehicle is our 8th and absolute favorite! The best feature for us, is the total independence afforded by LV’s energy system, which is second to none in the industry. We can enjoy glorious days of private boon docking, and we never have to worry about inclement weather, or re-routing for an emergency road closure, as the LV provides every home comfort anywhere, regardless of water and utility hookups. I can attest to the advantages and importance of LV’s indoor air quality. As an anesthesia airway specialist and someone with a chronic condition called Reactive Airway Disease, clean air is imperative. We are thankful we also purchased the air purification system, which saved me during the Colorado and Montana fires in 2022. My wife loves the spa bath, gourmet kitchen, washer/dryer, dishwasher, central vacuum system, the Truma continuous hot water system, ample storage inside and out, and the general ease of cleaning and household management of the LV. The Insta-hot water feature at the kitchen sink is also awesome, a convenience that saves energy, water and time. The fold-out deck is a no-brainer! Nothing beats this perfect above-ground perch's safety, privacy, and viewpoint! From the inside, the large sliding door extends our living space and brings the views and fresh air inside. The LV’s window placement adds to our overall camping experience. The visual beauty of our surroundings flows into our living space and can be enjoyed regardless of the outside weather. Our experience with the LV creators and their customer service team gave us a renewed appreciation for the creative genius and expertise that brought the Living Vehicle into existence. We are thankful for their attention to detail, their respect for their customers, and the integrity with which they run their business. They have set new industry standards and have given us hope for the future of sustainable RV travel. Finally, “You get what you pay for” has never meant more. Our initial sticker shock quickly faded as we learned more and experienced our amazing LV's unparalleled quality and features.

We had the pleasure of purchasing our Living Vehicle last year and have to say, the entire experience was amazing from start to finish. The individual access to Matthew, Joanna, and Wally throughout the process was incredibly helpful to learn about the features and capability of the Living Vehicle. The service and quality of the product are in a class of their own. Due to the fact that you have so many choices to customize your order the Living Vehicle has the feel of being a one of a kind custom product, but also takes advantage of the quality and reliability of being built as part of a production process. When traveling the LV certainly is noticed and there is never a shortage of compliments and questions regarding the LV. We highly recommend Living Vehicle to anyone looking for a top-of-the-line RV, and we are looking forward to many more years of enjoyment with our LV.
