I have had this unit for 8 weeks. We had this grand idea to come down to the states adventure a couple weeks a month, see new amazing things, and then drive it back home. (Alaska). HAHAHA- 1. BEFORE WE EVEN PICKED IT UP (but after we had already bought it)- the dealer had done an "inspection" and found out they had to do warranty work for delamination on the front sides. Purchased July 31st, Picked up September 21st- still missing decals- but whatever. Only had a short window for our adventure opportunity. its just stickers. 2. Day 3- Fridge did not work, or hold temperature. (they sent us a new one) 3. The overhead cupboard doors kept popping off their hinges. 4. Cabinet handles fell off. 5. solar controller didn't work properly. (they sent a new updated one) 6.went to use the heat- NONE of the ducts were attached! NONE 7. living room lights went out. (connectors are cheap and unplug apparently) 8. The closet rod was attached via 4 screws into the thin roof, so it obviously fell when i hung up the third item (I think the 4 screws are actually supposed to attach our toilet roll holder to something?) 9. our toilet roll holder was not attached, nor did it have screws lol- but now it does? haha 10. one of our chairs broke- the bottom just fell off. 11. and here's the kicker - our living room slide leaks- like ALOT, we called to make an appointment and were told we need to be prepared to leave it for 8 weeks!! That's how long we have had it. 12. OH and the wall mounted command station can't stay connected to the node because the screen needs updates, but the tablet is too old to update! No joke- cannot use it to open or close slides or awnings- FUN. We decided to do this road trip now, while I am finishing my masters. When I get back home, I have to go back to work and life goes back to normal. Only using the trailer 4-6 weekends a year, but dammit, we have had it 8 weeks, which was 4 trips, and now we will be without it for just as long. We purchased it July 31st- We were able to pick it up September 21st. Away it goes again. I am devastated that we bought a lemon. We saved our whole life for this opportunity. I am simply tired, and beat down. I feel absolutely ripped off, oh and I owe on it for 15 years!! WTF. They should never do loans on these for that long... they won't last long enough to pay it off. I wish we hadn't sold our 2006 Keystone. I'd do anything to be back in the position we were, paid off and it all worked. Something breaks every week on this 2024 brand new JAYCO- HIGHLAND RIDGE, but this leak... this is a huge inconvenience and completely hinders our plans. Everything we saved for gone down the shitter- the one that always says 2/3 full even when its empty. I cannot believe they can charge people so much and not be held accountable, not only for the quality of the product, but then not held accountable on how long they claim to need to keep it for repairs. Absolutely love the massive storage capacity and the ease of use of all of the internal and external controls. Did extended stay in this fifth wheel and never had issues maintaining comfortable temperatures despite the exterior weather. Jacks/leveling and moving this RV around was very easy. Truly only lacking in a washer although one could always buy a portable to put in the shower. So many small features in this RV added up to a very comfortable homey feel. The versatility of having three propane tanks in the storage bay is unbeatable. Show less

I've enjoyed the RV, it's very spacious and comfortable even through winter. Great for families with children, bunk beds are a great plus for having guests stay . The open living quarters are comfortable and the hideaway tv gives lots of kitchen counter space. Loved using the fireplace in the cooler nights. The outdoor kitchen is another plus for extra space. Fantastic design and layout, easy accessibility to vital components and use of quality products. Cruiser Tech support is great as well. Quality fiberglass lamination, roof membrane is secure, smooth and sealed properly from factory. Side skirting has ample supports and electrical connections are all made securely. Overall although not a high end unit, it was built well, and shows the integrity to last for its intended time. Show less

Bought this as we thought it was a well built Fifth wheel with a good floor plan. Have had issues with the living room slide since we bought. The Dealer had no idea how to repair a unit with the cable drive system, even though the dealer was a certified Open Range dealer and repair shop. In fact, they made the problem worse. I have contacted Highland Ridge and BAL, the company that manufactures the slide system to no avail. I am sincerely disappointed in Highland Ridge and Jayco. Getting parts for the slide system is horrible. Currently the unit is with a private repair company that is trying to fabricate a repair for the unit. He states the system has a terrible design flaw with the slide being too heavy for the cable system. The only advice I can give is to stay away from Highland Ridge Open Range units with the BAL slide system. We bought this unit for our retirement and it is a shame we have missed camping trips due to this issue. I had always heard that Jayco stands behind their products, but this has not been the case for us. Jayco bought out and has manufactured Highland Ridge Open Range units since 2014. Show less

We’ve had our Open Range Light 275RLS for a little over a year. Four stars for livability because it’s livable. One star for overall quality because it is poorly constructed, from the Schwintek slide that malfunctioned initially to the way doors and interior walls were poorly constructed, to the needlessness of the “theater lighting” on the recliners, to the way too small oven that is difficulty to light. To the touch up that needs to be done to some of the finishes (not very long after purchasing). Four stars for floor plan because it’s a pretty good floor plan with the exception of the entrance to the bathroom-too close to the outside door, and opposes the bedroom door, so needs to be kept shut all of the time. Four starts for driving-it pulls pretty good. One star for Factory Warranty/Support- If I could give no star at all that would be what I would give. It’s great to have a warranty, but if the manufacturer doesn’t back it by helping you find someone other that the original seller to work on it, you might as well not have a warranty. Travel trailers are made for traveling., so it’s reasonable to expect that you might not be staying within the vicinity of where the purchase was made. Very shortly after purchasing ours the Schwintek slide malfunctioned. Tried to deal withe Highland Ridge/Jayco, but they were useless. We had to backtrack 500 miles to return to the dealer that we bought the RV from. Show less

Been a very good RV. Finishes are nice, layout is great with kids. Tows great with my 1/2 ton truck. Would be nice to have a little more storage but overall been a great trailer. Heat in the front bunkhouse is a little hard to regulate with the furnace being so close but an adjustable vent easily cures the issue. Show less

We have owned our RV since new in 2018. The first major issue was with the kitchen slide, it would not go back in when the unit was brand new. After having the motor replaced, it works however it continously goes out of synch. It needs support and an extra push when we pull it in. We have traveled the country in this RV and actually love the layout and space it provides. However, the support from the manufacturer is null to say the least. The furniture is now splitting which is a sub par company that the manufacturer works with. We have soft spots in the floor which we have been advised are due to "high traffic" area, not sure what part of a 27' unit wouldn't have high traffic. Bottom line the floor apparently is only warranteed for 1 year so we are on our own. We love RVing and spend months out on the road, so in shopping for our next one we will use these lessons learned to ensure we do not have similar issues. Show less

The trailer looks beautiful but, looks are deceiving. This trailer is a piece of junk. We bought in late 2019 and haven't been able to enjoy it for a full season since we bought it. It went back to the manufacturer...., Twice! The very first time we took it out, the kitchen slide out wouldn't go back in. The dealership sent it back to the manufacturer with a list of problems they felt needed to be repaired. The manufacturer fixed the slide out and nothing else. Of course the manufacturer didn't agree with all of the problems identified by the dealership, and sent it back to the dealership, only to have the dealership reject it and send it back a second time. Since we've had it, the fridge quit working and we've two leaks in the water system. By the time I retire in six years, at the rate it's going, the trailer won't be serviceable enough to take anywhere. Save your money, don't buy Open Range. At just over $4000.00, even the extended warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on. Our first and last travel trailer. We're fed up, we're selling this piece of shit! Show less

We have only used the camper 2 times for a couple of days each. The camper floor plan is set up well. Enjoyed our time out in it. It pulls easy and set up is a breeze. The outdoor kitchen is so convenient. We added the outside tv. Show less
