Our 2022 19CSK vintage seems to be a lemon. This is our second season with it and I am now concerned. Last year, the floor was soft at the end of the season and the trailer was sent back to the factory over the winter. Little things like handles falling off drawers we fixed ourselves. This year the hot water heater had to be replaced after a trip to CO. Two days after getting it back from the dealer, we took a week trip to northern WI. It was hot, then rainy, then nice. During the week the following happened: panel just left inside the door came unscrewed and fell part way out; middle drawer under the sink no longer closes all the way, the wood delaminated around the top and side of the slide out; the seal flap in the toilet doesn't close all the way (stinky bathroom as a result); another kitchen cabinet door lost its hinges; and one of the axel seals fell off somewhere on our way home. And we noticed that we are missing two hubcaps that were on when we started the trip. While I can't recommend to anybody to buy this Gulf Stream product, there are things to like about the trailer: We like its small size, frig/freezer, stove/oven, microwave all are great. AC cools quickly but is noisy. There's plenty of hot water and the holding tanks seem generous. But our daily experience is like living in a run down apartment building.

It was the perfect size for us and I often called it "the most and the least amount of trailer we could ever want at the same time." At 23 feet, it is still small enough to get into more rustic campgrounds and beautiful boondocking sites and navigate a McDonald's parking lot. This model had plenty of storage areas, too. But it was just small enough that I couldn't quite imagine living in the trailer all the time. We took it on a 10-week cross-country camping trip and it was the best summer of our lives.

Quality was very poor on ours. Door hinges had every screw stripped out along with the bases that hold the table to the floor. Stereo system stopped working on our first trip out and it took the dealer a month to get approval to replace it. It was then replaced with a system that would not play cd or DVD and the Bluetooth quit working after our second trip. Speaker failed as well. Can’t use the TV with the radio as they share the same antenna and cut out the signal. After they did the prep at the dealer we found leaks at the pump, under the sinks, felt for the price the quality should have been better.

Wonderful woodwork and bright colorful details - I love what this trailer looks like and its floorplan really works for us. BUT, this trailer is cheaply and poorly manufactured. Some of the defects were minor and were easily fixed - for example, Gulf Stream failed to install a blackwater tank flush valve, to connect the radio to the antenna, etc. Annoying but no big deal. But, it didn't stop with the small stuff . Gulf Stream didn't seal the rear brake light at the roofline and the water that poured in blew 4 of the 5 window seals in the trailer. When it rained it was like Niagara Falls inside the trailer. Took over 8 months to get new windows in stock and replaced. There were what appeared to be nails popping up through the flooring but were in fact just pieces of scrap metal that were not swept up and they installed the flooring right overtop. Then when we were travelling, the freezer door hinge snapped right off and the freezer door was on the floor. Turns out that when the freezer door was installed, a corner plastic piece that holds the door trim and the handle had snapped in half and instead of taking the door off and replacing the piece, they just glued it in place. That is a lot of weight and stress on a glued bit that eventually failed and the cost for replacement of the freezer parts was shockingly high. We have less than 20,000 km on this trailer and the last time we took it out we were on the highway and a leaf spring failed (severed completely in half). Almost died. Repair shop said that the leaf springs that the trailer was initially equipped with were barely sufficient for the dry weight of the trailer and a partially filled fresh water tank - no other weight. We thought we must have a lemon trailer but we spoke to someone with the exact same RV model and year of manufacture, and their experience was no less disturbing - they had had completely different and just as serious issues. We swapped horror stories so that we could learn from our shared experience and take some comfort from the fact that that these issues are not exclusive to just our trailers. These are cheap and cheerful trailers BUT they are really poorly manufactured and somewhat dangerous and the trailer will be in the shop more often than you will be camping with it.

Lippert tested section and said no problem with their specs from Gulf Stream. Out over $6000 for replacement made from thicker material.

We bought new a Gulfstream Vintage Cruiser RSS. The drop down menu here did not have our RV listed so I plugged in the closest I could find on that list. This RV has been junk from the day we bought it. Do not buy Gulfstream. Wiring harnesses not connected, screws pulled out of the table during hauling and table was on the floor when we opened the door. Table and everything else is made of very cheap materials. The "woody" outside decals are peeling off. Looks so bad I am embarrassed to pull the camper out on the road. Gulfstream said we have to pay them $2,000.00 for enough decals to cover just the front and one side. Then we have to pay $100 per hour to have them installed. Sitting at the table and pieces of paneling trim simply fall off onto the floor. Skylights fell apart and had to be replaced. Chrome hub caps all rusted. Lid on storage tube for sewer pipe broke. Cheap bed mattress had to be replaced. Black water tank continually gets plugged up and will not completely empty. Shower so small very hard and dangerous to get in and out of. Very little cabinet storage in kitchen. Very poor design on awning arms. Continually hitting and cutting our heads on those arms. When we left the dealership the RV swayed so bad on the interstate we could not get over 50 mph. Had to add leveler and sway bars in order to haul. Do not buy Gulfstream.

Let me begin with we have had many types and lengths of camping vehicles. From pop up’s to Class A motorhome. We specifically purchased this unit because we wanted something that could be towed behind a SUV and have a complete bathroom. We looked at many floor plans but decided on this on. First it is built light so it will have light cheaper materials in it. Understand that and it helps in understanding what you are purchasing. Most all makes we have purchased have had leaks in the drains or water connections. This unit was no different. I went around and tightened all connections in unit, it took about an hour. Yes this should be done by the dealers but it never seems to get accomplished. The water pump is under the bathroom sink so fairly easy to access and winterize. Everything worked on it when we picked it up and has since then. It tows very easy and we have had no problems with it. We put 6000 equalizer hitch system on it and it drives well down the road. We know if we were towing it with a truck we’d would not even know it was there. The AC is loud but most of them are, it is your normal Dometic unit. I am surprised by how lightweight it is that it has done well for cooling and heating. The undercarriage is not insulated(because of weight). We have camped in it at 30 degrees and it has worked fine. So for an ultra light camper that is 19’ long, has a full bathroom, full sleeping area, kitchen , full refrigerator and freezer(separate doors), and a dinette table. This unit works very well. Access under the dinette and under the beds could be easier but we understand everything is weight in these types of units so doors will add weight. Overall we are very happy with this single axle trailer and the fact that we have what we wanted on the inside. We were willing to sacrifice with lighter weight materials to get the size we wanted with the weight.
