Grand Design Solitude 379FL reviews

We purchased a 2021 ST382WB-R full paint, generator, disk breaks. Trailer looks great but that unfortunately is not the story. Window in living room shattered and then window in entrance door shattered. Both replaced by Grand Design. The trailer springs after 1 year became flat - took months to get replacements then GD only sent enough springs for one Axel. Took months to get from GD, these are Dexter Axels and I found them within 100 miles from my home - no good needs to come from GD. First trip out converter failed - we were parked in RV Park and I had to pay service call and I did get paid back for repair and unit. Front floor squeaks horribly and have been trying for all 3 years to get this fixed. Slide in bedroom floor had water damage and took in for repair and dealer sent pictures but I am out $2400 - this trailer is covered with RV Cover when not in use - less than 6,000 miles on trailer. Prior trailer I had almost 20 years without water damage. Now wood over dining slide fell off - damaged center island - nailed in with less than 1/4 of nail holding wood. All 3 trims over other slides are lose. This trip window in entrance door fell out on highway - hope no one was damaged or injured - seems dealer did not install replacement with inside bracket. Oh, microwave not working properly. Forgot switch that runs inverter that has rubber like cover has failed. Best part, call GD you will get a very nice person but be prepared to wait an hour of so. Guess I am not the only unsatisfied customer trying to get issues handled. This trailer cost well over $100,000 so not bottom basement trailer. I will not purchase another GD! Show less

This RV is very spacious, homely, and kid friendly. It has a large living space, great storage inside and out. The kids love having their own space and storage. The outside storage is very large and spacious for traveling with the whole family and pets. Show less

I bought this rv for living. It was two years old when I bought it. I had it maybe a year when the black tank fell. At the time I was not traveling, good thing. It cost me $1500 to fix it. Not even a year it fell again. More money to fix it. This time the tech put angle iron under it to hold it up. So far that worked. But he left it open under there to come back and check on it. Good thing because every now and then it leaks just a little. Now that’s not even all of it. The smell is horrible. We have tried everything we can to keep the smell down. We have to flush the tank every three days. My bath room closet always smells. The only thing that hasn’t been checked is the vent. Needless to say, I will never buy a Grand Design trailer. So disappointed in this trailer. Grand design is supposed to be the top of the line. Never again Show less

Grand Design sold us Solitude with extra fitting hole in grey tank. The tank overflowed through our underbelly. Grand Design denied the claim saying ‘Grand Design doesn’t know how the extra fitting got there’. We took it to GD dealership who confirmed the issue. GD denied warranty claim. Show less

bad, dont want to talk about it i hope the world wakes up all dealers are bad, Liars and misleaders and deceivers . plus they over charge all people that buy rv from them all; they think about is money how much the can make . they do not care about us.all RV dealership are rip- offs Show less

We love the front living room with plenty of room for guests. It tows great with a Ford F350. It is an all season trailer that performed good in northern Tennessee and central New Mexico during winters in both locations. The 12 gallon water heater is great for several showers without running out of hot water. The fireplace heater was great in aiding the furnace at night. My last trailer did not have the self leveling system and was a pain for setting up. This one with self leveling is a breeze. Just push a button and that's it. Show less

I have used this 379FL 5th wheel for several years in both warm and cool climate. It is very comfortable in either climate. The front living room floor plan is just great since it allows the RV to be "full width". I guess the width of the living room to be at least 15 feet when the RV is a t full width! That makes this RV so enjoyable. The remaining sections i.e. Kitchen, bathroom and master bedroom, are very well proportioned and super livable almost like a "stick built" home! Show less

We can't praise the Grand Design Middlebury, Indiana factory enough for the work they did on our Solitude 5th wheel. We dropped it off with a list of warranty issues we had built up for two years and they did an amazing job fixing everything and even more. The inside was cleaned to perfection. And this is why we went with Grand Design, they truly back up their units. Show less

Hello,, do somebody have problème with sofas in the vr? Mine are all simili Leather ( I Thing) and is All coming off. I will like to send picture bécasse it’s a big problem and nobody want to help me, garanty Say talk to the dealer, an the dealer say it’s not is problem, because the new dealer buy the fist one.... I own a 379 FL. It is a very livable trailer. The service that is given is the worst of any product that I have ever owned. The design of the slides is awful. There is no way to prevent leaks around the slide bars. Worst purchase that I ever made. Show less
