Grand Design IMAGINE 2670MK reviews

The floorplan is the best possible floorplan for the the way we travel. The desk space and the island kitchen have become essentials for us. If you want these amenities in a travel trailer, this is your unit. But it does have down sides. Foremost is the anemic cargo carrying capacity. Forget the factory weights, it will be heavier even dry. you are looking at a 1000# plus tongue weight. And once you add the basics like cables and hoses and a weekend's worth of clothing and food you will be at the weight limit. Distributing that weight is also a challenge as the unit is back end heavy. You will likely need to tow with the tongue slightly down to balance the load, which will increase the tongue weight even more. It is a drop frame to increase storage volume, so depending on your hitch you will be getting close to the ground. We use a P3 and get 4-5 inches of ground clearance. So with the gross weight, tongue weight, rear weight, and then add sail area, plan on a 3/4 ton TV. The math from GD might make you think 1/2 ton, and the fan boys will all say "Like it isn't even there" or "No problems". But you need a 3/4 ton for this trailer. The usual quality issues abound. Gaps in sealant, trim falling off, bubbles in the roof membrane, incorrect PEX fittings, sawdust everywhere. We have needed three repairs and I did all of them myself. The process of returning to the dealer 2 hours away, dropping off for warrantee claim, picking it up again, returning when the parts are in, and final pickup means 8 hours on the road for every issue. Give me a Mobile Tech or ship me the part! But in the end, worth it for the floorplan! Show less

Grand Design has built a quality product. The Imagine 2670MK is extremely comfortable for shorter or longer stays. We have added convenience items like a 2nd AC in the bedroom. Tankless water heater for continuous hot water. An 18” apartment size dishwasher built into the island. Pantry pullouts top and bottom. 2nd TV in the bedroom. This RV has had light use. We have just decided at our age not to RV anymore. Show less

The MK 2670 has a good floor plan with lots storage. We bought is specifically for the great kitchen design. Our issue has been with the kitchen slide. We had it worked on while it was still under warranty and within a few months it was not working again. It is out of alignment vertically. We attempted to have it repaired again and were told we should try to learn to live with it because even if they repaired it, it would probably break again due to the poor design. It will go in and out, but it won’t go all the way. When the slide is out, there is a gap of 2-3 inches at the bottom. When the slide is in, the same thing happens at the top. Very frustrating!! Can't get a hold of anyone at this company called 36 times in one day and get put in a hold queue forever then get hung up on!!! Crappy Support from the manufacturer. No callbacks no nothing total failure in overall communication! Show less

We are only selling this unit because we bought a park model in our current RV Park. This unit is truly a "couples coach". The opposing slides in the living area gives ample room to move around. Having a separate bedroom from the living area made it very comfortable. The storage in this unit is very good. Overall, we absolutely loved this unit. Show less

We were so excited about getting a Grand Design product, but our excitement quickly turned to disappointment. The quality and customer service are just not there. Little things started failing almost at once. We did get some of the issues patched up before warranty expired, but more problems followed. To start with: Drawers were put in crooked and won’t stay closed during travel. Cabinet doors were hinged incorrectly and didn’t latch. Handles on cabinetry have metal burrs that cut hands. Shades bottom bars fall off shades constantly. Currently experimenting with packing tape to hold them. Theater seating controls on one side stopped working. Listed, but not repaired under warranty. Basement doors warped to the point of no longer sealing. Warranty gave us new doors, but did not cover installation. Leak in awning directly over doorway; listed, but not repaired by warranty. Pieces of decorative trim missing in middle of run. After warranty expired: Lights failed on awning and entrance. Plastic wood print paper that covers cabinets and doors fraying from normal use. We have contacted Grand Design concerning quality issues , but got no response This is not our first travel trailer and had no issues with previous one (Forest River). After two years we are considering a new trailer, and it DEFINITELY will not be a Grand Design! I would not recommend a Grand Design based based on our experience. Show less

This Imagine 2670MK feels like a luxury apartment with the cozy fireplace and very large kitchen with Island. The bath and shower are spacious with plenty of storage. The master is comfortable and has 3 hanging cupboards and lots of other storage. Outdoor kichen and huge awning are great. Show less

We purchased this unit used and have had it almost 2 years which included a major excursion out west. Pros: Layout Living in it Amenities like the pop up tv Lots of counter space in the kitchen Fireplace/space heater Dual AC Lots of storage Cons: Canopy placement Outdoor speakers Dinette booth conversion to bed Ours included the theater seating, but we would have preferred the standard sofa bed. With the dual slides, there is enough space for an inflatable queen bed in the main space. All in all the 2670 is a great unit. Show less

Everyone. My husband and I WERE huge Grand Design fans. That is until our May 2020 purchase of a 2021 Grand Design!! We previously own a 2017 Grand Design reflection 3315RLST which was TOP quality!!! We bought the 3315RLST to have more room for full time volunteering for a Corps of Engineers campground on a local lake. 3 yrs later we gave up th position and begin camping again but the unit was so big it was hard to get sites. Based on our experience with Grand Design we knew our next unit would be Grand Design.. Here we are a year after that VERY BAD purchase with problems that continue.. We sold our Intech Sol Horizon just so we could purchase the 2670MK which we love. My wife and I both work in the tech industry so we like to be able to stay connected and work remotely while traveling whenever possible. The 2670MK includes a desk across the rear so it provides an ideal workspace. We love that the bedroom has its own door since she tends to turn in earlier while I often stay up to watch TV or work online. Since the bedroom has its own air conditioning unit, she can turn the fan or cooling on for noise and make it whatever temp she wants in there. The unit has all the amenities we wanted, most notably an outdoor kitchen for her and theater seats directly across from the TV for me. It has more than enough space for the two of us and our dog but the dinette can covert into a sleeping area if friends or family want to travel with us. We pull it with a 2020 RAM 1500 5.7L eTorque along with an Andersen WDH hitch (which is a GREAT hitch!) with no problems at all. Show less
