Forest River Wildwood X-Lite reviews

We purchased a 2023 Vibe rear kitchen in October 2022. Love the floor plan, beautiful to look at . We have used the camper 9 times and in August of 2024 we went to use the over the bed cabinets and saw that the "wood look" paper was peeling from the sides of the cabinet. Looking further we found the same paper peeling in various places including the entire top of the pull out section. We called the dealer who said it was no longer under warranty. My husband called Forest River directly and they said oh yeah, we had a bad batch of glue. Two days later we found the entire bedroom closet door and jam had fallen off the wall. There is a crack in the top corner of the shower wall. The bathroom faucet handles are cracking and falling off. The camper jack fell down when we were coming home from a trip - scraping the highway all the way home. We had to buy and install a new one. The kitchen seats broke with the first use as the screws were not completely in the correct place. We have since had to reinforce both booth bottoms. Just one issue after another. I have never been so disappointed in such poor use of materials and workmanship for something that we still owe $30,000 on. We paid $50,000. What a complete waste of hard earned money. Have had the same problem with the underbelly panels blowing off when towing. It is in at the dealer now for the fourth time. Dealer agrees the way panels are attached is a very poor design. They are trying to figure out a way to attached the panels actually to the frame. Has anyone had luck fixing this issue? Show less

We bought this TT brand new and Thank God my husband is very handy and has fixed many problems. Problems with plumbing , since the beginning when we bought it, it was in August of 2020 and we could not bring it in to get fixed due to covid, water leaking from the bottom of the shower, plumbing was done wrong and water would leak everywhere. Sofa and one reclining chair had to be fixed, problem with the slide outs rubber seals, he also fixed all of it. The latest, the roof was cracking everywhere , took it to Camping world and they sent pictures to Forest River to do a good will repair, and was told no they would not do it. Finally we had it fixed and it seems they painted the roof membrane to match the trailer, we found the difference in the color on the parts that where under the seals, and must have used the wrong paint and the roof felt like a cracker when is was taken off. It was completely dried out. This is not our first RV and we know how to take care of it, have always used the products recommended by the manufacturer to clean it. But of course Forest River did not want to take responsibility for a job so badly done. We will never buy another product from this company. Show less

Great starter RV for a family. Has everything to get going and camping. Light enough to be pulled with anything, and small enough to fit anywhere. Attention to detail is absent. Cabinets peeling almost immediately, plumbing iffy, with leaks found and needed to be fixed. 1st long trip, the underbelly panels were shattered by the wind. Bed is an engineering oversight, as it cracked on the first night laying on it, but easy to fix and reinforce ourselves with metal angle. Bathroom yellowed within a month. Show less

It was purchased new and mainly a couples camper, but have had others stay a night. Had to have the bulb seal around the slide out replaced before purchase as it was coming off near the bottom of one side. Also had to return to the dealer, for a water line behind the shower that was not correctly installed. I noticed the noise when connecting to water and quickly shut it off. It was fixed while I waited. The slide fuse was installed too deep and the electric tongue jack went bad in about month 7, both were repaired/replaced while I waited (about 2 hours). There are odd and ends things that have needed attention that I have addressed (door hinges, latches, etc.) The TV antenna doesn't seem to work which we typically stream so have not addressed. Upgraded from a Flagstaff Microlite as we wanted something larger with a better floorplan. Found exactly that with this unit. We tow it with a 1/2 ton F-150 with the max tow package and really have very little issues with it other than occasional minor sway in higher winds. KEY to our towing experience was going with a WeighSafe weight distribution hitch system which I consider to be the best one out there. I have tried three other wd towing systems and this one is far superior as this trailer is very heavy; especially in the tongue. Build quality and durability have proven to be outstanding thus far and we are very happy with this travel trailer. Show less

This travel trailer has everything, thats a fact. Unfortunately every time we use it, we think "why the heck didn't they put it right" The quality is tge worst I've ever seen ln an RV Everything is fitted with Brad nails or staples (screws might have been too expensive) Overall built quality 2/10 Insulation 0/10 AC 0/10 Bathroom quality 2/10 Shower 1/10 Kitchen 3/10 Range 0/10 (boil don't cook) Outdoor kitchen layout 9/10 but quality 1/10 Show less

Easy to tow. Loved the layout and the storage spaces. Fridge a little small for a longer trip. Murphybed top and easy to handle. The outside light on top was good and the blue lights on the bottom gave a cozy ambiente. Disappointed in the warranty work. Never able to fix a wallpaper problem. Show less

The Grand View is the worst money that we have spent on any camping equipment. Forest River is hard to get payment for warranty work that has to be done, and believe me, there has been more problems with this camper than any we have owned. Be smart and stay clear of this poorly made camper. It is not worth half of what they sale for. Show less

I am writing this review in hopes that anyone who is searching for a RV travel trailer will stay clear of Forest River. I am not sure what type of quality assurance process they have but maybe someone needs to evaluate that department. We purchased a new Forest River Wildwood Platinum 29BUD floor plan RV and have had nothing but issues. This was our first RV so we were not sure what to look for, now I know! The screen door does not latch there is a gap between the door and the frame. The RV bathroom has done nothing but leak since we used it, sink leaked, coupling not attached to water hose. Shower leaked, not only was it not calked properly but the hose coupling on the water line was not seated properly. The gas heat works when it wants too and the bed board in the primary bedroom broke in half!! This is unacceptable to manufacture a product in this manner. Does this company not even care that people spend their hard earned money, I understand that we did not pay 100s of thousands for this RV but 30+ thousand was a lot of us. POOR Quality. I wish the list of ratings were more along the actual product quality. We choose the floor plan so that would be on us if we didn't like it. I'm sure it tows as any other RV trailer, over all quality does not say it all. Show less
