I have hade several issues with the Sandpiper 401 that I bought last year. The black water tank has been leaking since I bought the trailer., and is still leaking . The wall in the bedroom came loose from the studs. The awning arm was broken. The backsplash in the kitchen came loose from the wall. The screen door on the sliding door was 5 “ too short. The trailer is used as a summer home and is in a pole barn. I am currently dealing with the smell of the black water tank leaking in my floor. The dealer has been here 5 times to deal with it and the last time they were hear the installed a new one. It is leaking just as bad, and the wall is coming loose from the studs in the hall.
I’m not a happy customer by any means! Wish I hadn’t bought this piece of shit.

This Rv is very spacious, has a lot of storage space. My grandchild loved having their own bathroom and bedroom. My husband loved having electronic jacks making the set up so easy. The air conditioner shut off when reaching the desired temperature, which I don’t think the one we had before did. The full queen bed is very comfortable. This camper is good for tall people , you don’t have to bend down to get in bed. It also has a ceiling fan which helps circulate the air.

We purchased our 2019 Sandpiper 379FLOK in August of 2018. At first we loved the floor plan and the hydraulic leveling system. When the dealer tried to show how the hydraulic system worked, it overloaded and threw the breaker. When we picked it up in August of 2018 we only had a few items that needed attended. The doors on the bathroom and pantry were already peeling the edges and the slide room floors on the outside showed scrapes where the rollers were bringing them in and out, these were noted on the sales papers and we gave the dealer 1 week to repair. Nothing had been done when we took possession of the unit. We packed it up and started out for Texas from Bartow Florida. That evening, first travel day, the landing legs would not extend and we could not get it off the tow vehicle. That caused a 5 day stay in Tallahassee, FL while their trained staff of mechanics tried to figure it out. We arrived in Texas 9 days after starting out. Setting up we noticed the bedroom slide wouldn't come out all the way to seal the room. 10 days later, the heater stopped working and the closest Camping World was over 70 miles away. Called them for mobile repairs, they didn't offer any. Next month the awning went out, coming back in it bent the awning arms because the fabric rolled up crooked on the tube. Then the recliners (2) stopped working, no heat or massage. Then the converter failed, no 12 volt system, no lights or computer to operate the rest of the RV. The toilet water supply valve sprang a leak, the bathroom fan stopped working cause the blade cracked and fell off the spindle. Then the black tank fell out of the frame, causing a bulge in the belly covering. When it leaked out the sides, thats when we knew something was wrong. After getting a couple of people to help remount the black tank inside the frame, we called warranty again, no mobile service available. Then the Fireplace stopped putting out heat, the microwave inside just stopped working. Tried different electrical recepticals, no luck. The thermostat stopped working, no a/c or heat. The outside kitchen faucet would not turn off, causing immediate replacement by us. The front landing legs started leaking down the legs, the bedroom slide cylinder was leaking on the ground. We were adding 3 quarts of fluid to the system every month, it was going somewhere. Now the hot water heater has a weld crack at the combustion chamber and extended warranty wants us to wait till they can send out an inspector in 4-5 days. This was our 4th purchase of 5th wheel RV, most disappointed with Forest River for lack of quality control.

I'm going to keep this review short. Om currently renting this trailer from the owner. Its set up on a on concrete residential backyard slab. Ots is the absolutely worst built piece of garbage you could buy. At over 100k to purchase brand new the amout of poor craftsmanship is appalling. The cabinets are so cheaply made, the floor is bowing and buckling on the bathroom and the insulation is almost non existent. In my life I've owned 7 RVs from truck campers to a class A motorhome so I'm giving my honest opinion. This trailer series is disgustingly built with only profits in mind and not the consumer.

Purchased a Sandpiper 3660 MB in January 2023 which was a big mistake.
The even had 7 water leaks from the manufacturer due to bad water fittings. The water heater was staying on constantly even though turned off. The canopy collapsed with no rain or wind bending the canopy arm. The black water tank valve was not sealing allowing black water to free flow into the drain pipe allowing black water to free flow every time the cap was removed to hook up the sewer hose.
Screws were not fully engaged on the slide out panels.
External apparatus’s were not caulked allowing water to enter the internal walls of the rv.
The rv was put in the shop for warranty work which took Forrest River 4 weeks to approve the work for $2700.
Rv was picked up and on the road the same day for a vacation revealing poor brake wiring causing my truck to inform me to check trailer brake wiring for a duration of 15 hours.
The refrigerator is not working and now electrical outlets will not work and the GFCI breakers were not tripped.
New leaks were discovered in the compartment underbelly revealing more leaking lines.
The mini refrigerator stopped working as did the inside refrigerator.
I talked to a repair person who told me that everchill refrigerators has a 45% fail rate and parts can not be purchased so Forrest River will send out a new everchill refrigerator knowing it will go out as well.
I will never purchase another Forrest River product nor will I ever recommend anyone to purchase their product!
I’m my experience I believe Forrest River will not authorize warranty work because the longer it is in the shop the more time has expired on the 1 year warranty!
I suggest anyone think long and hard before spending outrageous money on a subpar RV!

There are no electric plugs and if there is one they are in the worst possible place. Had to replace one air condition unit. This will be the last Forest River we purchase. Couldn’t get any dealer to work on warranty work near us told us we would need to go three hours away.

The inside is beautiful & so comfortable & roomy. The upgraded refrigerator is beautiful & all the excess storage is so great to have. I found a place for everything we needed to bring along...plus some things we could have left home.
This is a wonderful 5th wheel to camp part time for vacations & for full-time campers.

Well I never thought I'd see myself living in a Trailer/Camper. I met my boyfriend in Michigan, he already bought the Forest River, got a great deal on it, and we moved to Texas with it. We knew it needed a new Roof, it had already been leaking, so like the last woman who left a review about hers leaking, apparently these roof's weren't all that Great. But we replaced it with new materials from Amazon and it's been holding up just fine so far, well over 6 months Now. We've been living in it for 2 years. Just like a house, things need to be replaced and/or maintenance on when needed. Seals eventually go bad, slide out went a little off track on the one side, screens may need replacing, etc. But considering what we pay for lot payment, which includes electricity, water and sewage and we're on a Lake with full access you couldn't beat it with a 20 foot stick. The ONLY thing I would personally Try to have done, which I'm not fully how in this particular style of layout is to somehow have more counter space and more cupboards. Ours has an actual over under the stovetop, which I definitely prefer instead and it also has laminate wood flooring in the whole kitchen area and going up the stairs to the bedroom and on the landing in front of the bathroom sink....ours only has carpeting under the table, right in front of the Couch and in the bedroom area....and of course my back room is definitely considered a Garage atea. I have a washing machine back there as well....But it's so nice to have an on-board generator, the 100 gallons of Water and the gasoline reservoir too. Can totally go off the Grid with our type of Trailer/Camper. And able to pick up and go to any State we want to anytime we want to Also. It's the New way to live. 🖤😈😘
