Bought our KZ Durango 290RLT new in 2021 have had it up and down the East Coast and literally have had zero issues zero problems. Nothing broke nothing Luz nothing failed. Can’t believe how well this Durango was built. I also give a lot of credit to the RV dealer, we purchased it from for going over it before we purchased it and making sure everything was 100% would recommend Casey and the Durango line to anyone in the market owned a brand new Forest River fifth wheel before RJZ and had nothing but heartache and problems with that unit and after a year and a half had to get rid of it

We Love our 2021 KZ Durango we ordered it from the factory in 2020 during the pandemic. We ordered so we could get all the options that we wanted. We like the build quality I think it’s a well built Rv . For its price point . we like the floor plan and love the bathroom with it s double vanity. It tows great behind my 2018 Ram 3500. I love the fact that it has huge holding tanks. Plenty of freshwater. We ordered it with the residential refrigerator however it only has a 1200 W inverter so when Boondocking it is hard to keep the batteries charged up just purchased new set a batteries yesterday hope they will work for us better than the batteries that came with. I wished it would have had a 2000 W inverter and heavier duty RV Batteries . Also thing I’m not happy with is the decals peeling off the front of could have them better job on their decals. all in all, we really couldn’t be much happier. It’s definitely the nicest RV we’ve ever owned however it is plenty big getting into smaller campsites. It is 40 feet long. The factory says it is 3710, but I measured it and put a cover on it and it is 40 feet long so it is plenty big. I was really happy. It has a receiver hitch on it with wiring so we can tow a utility trailer which a lot of fifth wheels do not are not set up for towing with lights so that was a nice option they have.. One other thing like to mention is it has tons of storage.

In shop more than out. Floors cracked. Door hinges broke. Refrigerator leaked, won’t freeze adequately . Doors finally replaced r/t poor seals. One of the fold up bunks that has never used installed into paneling & hinges coming out of wall same issue with door, hand rails up to fifth wheel bedroom none properly installed like closet which fell off wall traveling entire shelving & rod collapsed only held on by staples half way hitting the 1x1 joke of support & plastic holders not designed to hold > 8 ft closet rods. Fireplace cockeyed & won’t mount flush. Slides have jammed multiple times on trips have to await service to come to pull home, door jams poor hinges malfunction & have to slam, chairs don’t fit inset window trim of dining room table. Awnings return for repair ~10 times, have tone manually retracted to leave & tow home, front lights failed. Have to rest power board ~3-4 times every trip to operate slides/awnings/lights, seams on wall covers cracks constantly lights dim when using dining room awnings as if there’s a short in them. Still not fixed after years of returning. manufacturer doesn’t want to stand by their products. Outdoor locks fail & spins around. Trailer looks good workmanship is extremely POOR to Nonexistent quality Have returned & replaced electronic control panel - has same issues have to reset constantly. Tires on trailer are horrible china - replaced all shortly after purchased new. Dangerous to drive on. Have had issues with 4/5 slides jamming failing to retract & or extend vent & bug covers fly off going down road, vents/fans fail to open & or function.. suggest stay away from this manufacturer once they get your money they couldn’t care less about customer service or warranty or $5,000 extended warranty each blames the other &/or ( can’t) repeat error until manufacturer warranty is out …. Then it’s screw u… couldn’t care less about doubt the right thing by their customers….. don’t waste your money on them & steer clear of this manufacturer

We really enjoyed this floor plan, and PRICE POINT. It’s very comfortable for moving around and has a lot of comfortable sleeping areas. The kitchen setup is great and feels roomy. We love the dual entrance bathroom from both the hallway and master bedroom. The bathroom is roomy with the curved shower door for extra movement space. We loved having a dresser in the bedroom, plus under bed storage! The storage is fantastic throughout. I don’t think we even used all the space we had. Lots of big windows to enjoy the great outdoors and let light in… including three skylight/vents. If you want a very nice trailer without spending all your savings, it’s a fantastic choice. (I only gave it a 4 on towing because we never did tow it. No reason to believe there was any issues.)

We have been RVing for 50 years. This is our 5th brand new RV.
The fit and finish leave a great deal to be desired. I sometimes wonder if we got the training unit and that that accounts for the sloppy workmanship. There are too many problems to go into in detail. I will focus on the on demand water heater. The low flow faucets that came from the factory don't flow enough water to activate the water heater. The warranty people made one attempt to correct the problem. We have hot water in the kitchen and half bath.
I drilled out the orifices in the shower head and that worked. But after two years and no more help from KZ we still don't have hot water in the master bath sinks. The on board pump didn't produce enough pressure to activate the water heater. No help from KZ, I replaced the pump myself. Customer service and warranty support are very poor.

I pull this trailer with a Ford Explorer that is rated for 5,000 pound towing . It handled it very easily, even in the Rocky Mountains. The floorplan is ideal for a family of 2 children and can easily accommodate 3. For a trailer that is only 24 feet long total the floorplan gives you a nice spacious area with the Murphy Bed up and the slide out. The construction of the unit is very good compared to many of the other manufacturers. I have not had to do any repairs or adjustments to the trailer. Of course, if you have the tow vehicle and the funds to go to a larger trailer with more room, it would be more comfortable. From what I have seen KZ quality is one of the better manufacturers in the travel trailer market.

Falling apart within 2 years of little use at local campgrounds. Countertop is starting to delaminate, electrical outlet not even being used broke and popped out of the wall, window leaks when it rains. None of this was covered after we found out that the 2 year warranty was actually only a 1 year warranty. Michelle at KZ said she would work with us, but at the end they offered nothing in support of their poor and faulty craftsmanship. $1200 for a new countertop on a rig just over a year old. Wonder how bad this will fall apart next year?! The mattress needs replacement already too. Very cheap made.

Decent floor plan for what I need. But this this so cheaply made as well as poor quality construction it has been a big disappointment. Right away we had very serious electrical issues when 2 auto reset breakers on the tongue melted, burning the cover and disabling the 12v system. Eventually got these issues resolved but after weeks of stonewalling by KZ and the dealer. First trip the main kitchen cabinet self distructed- the framing literally broke apart leaving framing and contents all over the inside. So again due to stonewalling we rebuilt the cabinet ourselves. Now we have a cold water supply to the water heater kinked so bad it won't flow. It was kinked as originally installed. Nothing about this trailer is worth the price and aggravation. Don't recommend KZ or the model.

This review is actually for a 2021 KZ Durango Gold G381REF which was not an option I could select from on the form above.
I really liked the floorplan. This RV is very similiar to the Grand Design Solitude 375RES but the 381REF has an additional fireplace in the bedroom, an adjustable bed, double shades, and a dishwasher.
I have an issue with the Quality and problems of finding a dealer that will do warranty work. The dealer we bought this from is 1,000 miles away from our home and we have experienced a number of issues: (1) Finding a local dealer that will work on it without waiting months to get in (2) basic quality issues that should have been caught during quality control. When we finally got into a repair facility they did an overall inspection and found that the floor in the kitchen's slide out needed to be replaced. We left the trailer with them in December and could not pick it up until March. After getting it home we tried moving the slideouts to open it up and the Bedroom slideout didn't go out. The service tech said upon inspection that the slide out was not centered properly and when he looked at one of the motors he saw rust on it. I just took in to them (May 3) and I am hoping that our trailer will be ready for it's maiden voyage on June 6. I am beginning to have doubts about the quality of the workmanship and have asked the dealer to inspect the remaining slide outs and I am waiting to find out the results on that and when I can expect to pick it up.
I can say that the initial warranty work was good. They replaced the landing gear due to a hydraulic leak and replaced the floor in the kitchen but that's not something I would expect to need on a brand new trailer.
