Our trailer spent most of the first year in the shop. The firefly controls have had constant issues. The bedroom/ hall slide had to have the bottom completely replaced. The slide would not close properly. The water heater had frozen and split the lines before we ever used the trailer. The lights in the kitchen slide pulled out and I had to re-atach them. The awning came un attached and damaged the side of our house. We have had the trailer just over 1 1/2 years and used it less than 10 times. I was inspecting the trailer to get ready for a trip next month and the heater blower motor has gone out.

I'm finding little things that tell me that I bought a $45,000 turd. The owner before me bought it new and lived in it—very little towing. I've only towed in once; the main issue concerning me is a water leak the previous owner covered up. I would have had to disassemble the RV to find it! After tearing into the RV to find the leak, I discovered that Rockwood uses flexible nylon piping and tries to connect it to PEX, even though this is against building codes, and there is no way to connect the two. They force it! This creates a bad connection that will most certainly fail at some point, especially if you tow it. So, now I'm trying to decide whether to pass this problem on to another unsuspecting fool (like me) or try to re-pipe my entire fifth wheel. The thing is, I'm not really a fool. I went over this thing with a fine-tooth comb, but I obviously couldn't tear it apart when I was inspecting it! Steer clear of Rockwood! They cut corners that you will pay for.

My wife and I recently purchased this trailer last spring, we are the 3rd owner in just under 4yrs. We are quickly realizing why. . Let’s start with the good, first appearance of the trailer is very modern inside. With a decent layout. That’s all I have for the good. Now for the bad, we quickly noticed moving our stuff from our 1955 27’ 5th wheel trailer into this new one had no where near the storage space as the 5th wheel did. We soon realized that the master bedroom in the new trailer was smaller than the 5th wheel trailer, the queen size bed barely fits. We have to climb up over the bed to get to the side of the bed where the closet are. Which are also very small compared to the 5th wheel. . Once we were all moved in, time for a good cleaning of the trailer, we started realizing very quickly how poorly the quality and craftsmanship of this trailer really was. From everything to walls, flooring, cabinets, dinette, I mean everything about this trailer is poorly made and made with very poor quality material. It doesn’t hold the cold, Ac unit is constantly running and very noisy. Same for the furnace. The slide out bring it in and out can be a challenge, I have to be outside watching it go in and out very very slowly stepping it, while making sure the seals don’t get pulled the wrong way and damaged. The fresh water tank is under the trailer held up by two thin metal straps. The plumbing of the trailer in also under the trailer held up by tie wraps. How can these dealers charge so much for these trailers they are cheap poor quality craftsmen ship. It’s disgusting how this can be allowed . I regret ever selling my 1995 Terry 5th wheel, but due to the age most parks in Ontario will not allow older trailers as new seasonal campers. The park that we are in and really love it and the location is perfect for us, but being a new seasonal camper we had to purchase a newer trailer. Honestly if I could have kept the 5th wheel over this New travel trailer. Be able to stay in our park of choice it definitely would be the 5th wheel.

We bought our travel trailer new in 2020 and recently had a major repair that Evo Forest River has advised is outside of warranty. I bought all the extended warranties and I am being advised that the repairs aren’t covered. If Forest River stands behind the craftsmanship of their product they would review my claim and support us in the cost of $12k roof repair. The lack of customer satisfaction and quality of product makes me regret purchasing from them.
