The Lance 2285 is our 9th RV owned over the past 40 years and is by far the best quality build, fit and finish. Virtually every RV is assembled from parts from numerous manufacturers (windows, appliances, roof material, doors, axles, wheels/tires, lights, fixtures, etc.) and usually only cabinets, walls, floor/ceiling are specific to the manufacturer. That is to say that manufacturers like Lance and others are at the mercy of 3rd-parties regarding the quality of many components in an RV. What separates Lance from others is the quality of construction for things they control. RVs take a beating just going down the highway, and my experience with two different Lance models is they are well constructed and things just fit. I would highly recommend.

Lance is rated just below Airstream in quality build and reliability. My 3 years owning Lance confirmed everything I had researched. The Storage and 2185 floorplan is great for me (solo with service animal), a couple or young family with small kids. The 2185 is approved and fits in even the older national parks. The 45 gallon size for fresh, black and grey tanks is more than edaquate plus I carried an additional 5 gallons foe emergency but never used it. The appliances are some of the best most reliable models from Dometic. I upgraded my water heater to a tankless Gerard and it worked great for unlimited hot water. I wanted the 2285 model but the roof configuration would not allow 4 solar panels but the 2185 did. I suggested to LOA to rearrange the roof of the next model 2285 to fit 4 220 watt solar panels which are a must for sincere boondockers and not just weekenders. I also had an Efoy Comfort fuel cell installed for charging batteries at night, when raining and during snow storms. The 2185 is sealed at the bottom and tanks are heated. It is a 3 season trailer for any weather.

We have pulled the trailer now 31k miles and still enjoy the fresh and modern look of it.

We bought the 2020 Lance 850 after much studying and reading reviews for RV truck campers. We had a travel trailer we were happy with for 3 years, but wanted something with a smaller footprint. A truck camper seemed just right. There is nowhere in our area which sells truck campers, so we drove 3 1/2 hours to the nearest dealer. The Lance expert there seemed quite knowledgeable and was helpful. We made the purchase and drove the 3 1/2 hours back home. Our first trip was planned for that week - to Vancouver, WA. I made food in advance, as the refrigerator in this model is not small, and we turned on the refrigerator the night before our journey, as we had always done in our previous camper. Unfortunately, the refrigerator never reached a temperature lower than 50 degrees, which will not keep food from spoiling. A call to the dealership was not helpful. We left anyway and made our trip. Since then, we have added 3 fans ourselves and now are comfortable with the cooling. About 6 months ago, we noticed water on the floor - we had not used the camper in a few months. We discovered it was coming from moisture around the fans and skylights in the ceiling. We called the dealership and ended up having to take it for repair - requiring two 7 hour round trip journeys. So far, the leaks seem to be repaired; however, they could not get the rust removed from the ceiling around each window. We have also had to repair: the faucet in the kitchen (we replaced it as it was leaking underneath the sink); the shade on the back door fell off and we have rigged it back on; the brackets on the awning have fallen off and one is still missing; the hot water tank sprang a leak and we have to replace it. We never had any problems with our Forest River trailer and thought we were trading "up" to Lance. We cannot, however, recommend this camper

They are built with high quality materials and there are so many useful storage areas. We never ran out of grey tank room with 2 grey tanks, 30 gallons each. 60 gallons of grey water is crazy for a trailer this small. Another benefit is the true full size queen bed. RV queens are just too short for anyone of a decent height. We considered so many floor plans to tow behind our half ton truck and found this to be the most livable. Lance Travel trailers and especially the 2285 are highly recommended!

This is our first RV. We initially needed a trailer that could be pulled by our 2017 JKU. This trailer paired with the Andersen WDH has been fantastic. It pulls really well. The floorplan works also very well for us. We travel with our 85lb GSD. He prefers the floor so walking around him could be an issue but for us it isn't. The quality is spot on compared to other small trailers that are half the cost and same weight. Lance just uses higher quality materials to achieve the same size goal while offering more room. Quite the challenge but they got it. Support could be better as have had minor issues but nothing to complain about. If you're looking at rPOD, Geopro, etc I highly recommend taking a serious look at Lance. The cost difference is significant but it is worth it to us.

Bought new and have been nothing but frustrated. Slide out was recalled because it would go out crooked and get stuck. After 3 months finally fixed (sort of). Recently got stuck again, so going back into shop. Domestic stove recalled in February. Had it plugged (stove unusable) so we could pressurize system and use propane. Parts are still not available for permanent fix. Curtis Trailers provided number to Dometic. Dometic said could not help, and to go through Service Center. Lance is giving the old shoulder shrug. Lance used to be a great brand. Steer clear unless you enjoy shoddy workmanship, and abysmal customer service.
