We bought this fifth wheel camper less than a year old used . Used it 1 time and stored it inside for the winter. Brought it out in the spring and after a month outside we noticed leakage under the main living area air conditioner. Called Highland Ridge about it and they told us to take it to the dealer for inspection where it was found to have roof rot around the air conditioner. After numerous calls to Highland Ridge they finally told me it is out of warranty and basically "Too Bad". After some research I found out it it a common problem with the Dometic air conditioner on my camper . 1 Year later the slideout gearbox failed and the final straw was in year 4 it developed a soft spot in the floor under the slideout. That was it with me and Highland Ridge. Sold it back to the dealer this spring, and lucky for me , like everything else used camper values are extremely high. Do Not Buy Highland Ridge

We bought this RV new in 2018. We liked the 3X which meant that there was an increse in the insulation. As we stay in southern Florida for 4 months in the winter and visit the eastern shores during the summer, it seemed to be a good idea. Bad idea! The foam that is used in the floors breaks down and you end up with crumbled foam under the floor covering. Very costly to repair! It is a common issue that Thor will not cover after the 1 year warranty is over. The cable operated slides hang up when pulling in the two main slides. The suspension has failed twice now. Spring hanger was only spot welded, broke off from fame. Over $800 to repair. Now an estimate to repair crumpled foam in floor, $3200. Thor replaced the entry door. Now have a 3/8" gap under the door instead of a 1/2" gap. Had to file half the plunger off in the bathroom door to get it to go into the hole in the wall plate to keep the door closed. The mattress that came with the trailer, you cannot sleep on it. Thin, cheap junk. Open the upper cabinet door in the rear of the coach, on a sunny day, you can see the red glow from the outside upper marker light. No insulation there. Too many more problems to talk about, not enough space to cover it all. Just a poorly built, well designed rig. Don't walk away from a Thor, RUN! Unfortunately, I did not learn from the experience with a priorThor RV. My prior Thor was a Super C, and it was poorly designed, poorly constructed. Ford F550 chassis was good, but the camper body was terribly cheap, poorly constructed and we should have learned better than to buy another Thor. Honest opinion.

Absolutely love the massive storage capacity and the ease of use of all of the internal and external controls. Did extended stay in this fifth wheel and never had issues maintaining comfortable temperatures despite the exterior weather. Jacks/leveling and moving this RV around was very easy. Truly only lacking in a washer although one could always buy a portable to put in the shower. So many small features in this RV added up to a very comfortable homey feel. The versatility of having three propane tanks in the storage bay is unbeatable.

As a full-timer in this model RV for 4 years, I will say this is a solid, well-built, constructed RV. This model tows phenomenal and has been across the country twice with no issues and I have had it in many different environments from hot deserts to snowy winters. I would recommend this RV model for any lifestyle. It is especially perfect for full-time as it has an open floor plan and plenty of storage and space. Due to no issues and concerns, I do not have experience dealing with the manufacturer for this particular model.

Bought this as we thought it was a well built Fifth wheel with a good floor plan. Have had issues with the living room slide since we bought. The Dealer had no idea how to repair a unit with the cable drive system, even though the dealer was a certified Open Range dealer and repair shop. In fact, they made the problem worse. I have contacted Highland Ridge and BAL, the company that manufactures the slide system to no avail. I am sincerely disappointed in Highland Ridge and Jayco. Getting parts for the slide system is horrible. Currently the unit is with a private repair company that is trying to fabricate a repair for the unit. He states the system has a terrible design flaw with the slide being too heavy for the cable system. The only advice I can give is to stay away from Highland Ridge Open Range units with the BAL slide system. We bought this unit for our retirement and it is a shame we have missed camping trips due to this issue. I had always heard that Jayco stands behind their products, but this has not been the case for us. Jayco bought out and has manufactured Highland Ridge Open Range units since 2014.

This is a run of the mill unit. Quality of finishes is sub-par at best from loose wall coverings to loose floor covering. Shades are terrible pleated horizontal crap. The kicker about this company is that when they screw up they don't make things right. We had a flat tire, no big deal put the spare on and get down the road or so you would think. They put an 8 lug spare on a six lug camper so we could not put it on. Roadside service to have the spare taken off the rim and put on the rim that would fit cost us $261. Highland Ridge refused to cover their mistake.

The slide out was not properly manufactured (you can see where the screws missed the mark completely). This allows water to stream in. It is now full of mold and will cost more to repair than what it’s worth. Highland Ridge does not stand behind their products. Highland Ridge will not even answer an email or phone inquiry when they know you are calling about the trash they manufacture

Highland Ridge does not stand by the product it manufactures. I would not recommend buying a Highland Ridge. The slide floor has separated in my 3 year old unit and they refuse to even help with costs of repair. Customer service said no and wouldn't even talk with dealer about the issue. I am unable to move my slide in due to the issue. There is no water damage,no leaks. Just poor quality in design. 2500 to 3000 dollars to replace the floor in the slide. I had my previous RV, a different make for 15 years without flooring issues. The floor in a 3 year old unit should not separate. I bought this unit because I heard of the good quality and customer service of Highland Ridge. Well I have found out from experience that this is NOT the case. I regret my decision to purchase their product. Buyer Beware!
