2015 Travel Lite reviews

We did quite a bit of research before we bought this RV--our first BTW--and it was quickly narrowed down to Leisure and Coachman. When we visited our RV dealer in Ft Worth, TX they had a Unity for sale. Upon inspection and a test drive, we knew that the Leisure brand was the kind of top quality we were looking for. It turns out that the one we purchased had only 4,000 miles on it as the owner had been transferred to Europe and took it back to the dealer with orders to sell it and then have another one with the exact same equipment ready for him when he returned to the US in 3 years. So we basically got a nearly new unit with a discount. From the get go we loved this RV for its drivability, and by that I mean top handling, excellent MPG (that surprised me!) and the ability to take it anywhere and park it anywhere. (Heck, I've even angle parked this in the middle of a town square--only 23 ft long.) We also have enjoyed the Murphy bed for the way it disappears at night, giving us more space during the daytime. (We did convert it to manual dropdown at the factory in Canada; I've always been worried about it stalling in mid-stream electric fold down.) I did not admire the original mattress, so we had a custom one made--not cheap, but worth it. The dinette table is nice too for mealtime, and can be stowed away after use. One of our top priorities was a separate enclosed shower (I hated the thought of a "wet" bathroom) and the Unity has a great enclosed shower in the rear. The toilet and sink are fine, never had a problem. The fridge has always worked fine although we lost the microwave when it shorted out on a faulty electrical shore connection (we have recently replaced it with a brand new one). The pullout pantry next to the fridge is great and saves a good deal of cupboard space. We travel with our golf clubs so the exterior tall storage space is perfect for that. All of the exterior connects are solid and intuitive, and the on-demand water heater is great for not worrying about running out of shower water. We almost never boondock, although I love the security of having the Onan generator for backup, should we need it. The crank-out awning is great for extended or sunny stays, and the exterior outlets are helpful. We rarely watch TV when we travel but for those who do, the satellite is one handy feature. The AC- heat pump is pretty reliable as we have traveled to both hot and cold regions and have used it on cool and heat settings. I do love the powered ceiling fans, which gives us a way to cool off the interior in a hurry. Bonus: they close automatically if it starts to rain. We added a Sirius radio system to our Unity as I must have my Oldies music on the road. I also added a security system, which my wife demanded. All in all, a great experience with what has been the perfectly sized and perfect handling RV for the two of us (and the dog!). You'll enjoy this unit, trust me. Show less

These campers are no longer made, so no warranty on this year model. Couldn't rate that. However, all aluminum from underbelly to rooftop for this year model. Excellent camper. Plenty of room, plenty of storage. No leaks. No wood. No smell. Easy to pull. Lightweight. Show less

This 25 foot RV has more room and convenience than most. Large bath and wardrobe closet plus drawers and storage everywhere inside. Outside has tall cabinet and two other compartments, one quite large. Roominess inside due to electric Murphy bed and slide out.We've packed staples for a 6 week trip.Electronics are excellent with TV at eye level. Macerator makes dumping quick and especially clean. No big hoses. Generator gives extra power when dry camping. Mercedes Sprinter a dream to drive, great power and transmission so that braking down grades only occasionally needed. Climbs everything loaded and still at good speed. Show less

The ramp door is rated to hold over 2000 lbs. Our motorcycle weighs 600. The ramp is now failing. Why? Because we just learned it’s constructed of wood. WOOD. And due to moisture over the years, it has become spongey and will have to be replaced. “No wood, no rot”?? It’s a lie. Show less

First of all our camper we bought fits all of our needs. It pulls good Just a great all around durable camper. Until The siding started to come off. In 2016, Its was put on with double sided tape. Now keep in mind we paid $32000.00 for a camper that we liked at the end of 2015 with a 3 yr workmanship warranty. In the meantime KZ bought Livin Lite. So I started the process in 2016 With everyone In Customer Service at KZ when they would answer the phone or emails. After getting an estimate from a local RV Repair shop as they asked (KZ is 1200 miles away from me) for 7700.00 dollars. KZ Customer service decide to come get it in March 2017.After a week and several phone calls I finally got Customer Service Rep to see if they had gotten my camper. After 5 1/2 months in their repair shop and was promised 2 months. Still no one answers the phone or emails in Customer Service after they know you have a problem. So I called Thor Industries(which owns KZ) they put me in touch with the VP of KZ nice guy. After he got involved in the repair I just knew things where looking up. Was I wrong!To Cut it short. It came back worst than before it had left. They replace all the siding on Left side 4sheets on Right new decals on Left side and the decals on right side are green and gray suppose to match left side which is all gray. It was deliver back with the front moldings flapping in the wind scuffed up the sides and the new siding It was already loose from the stud walls which affects the sutural integrity. So I call The VP and he said he would make it good. Go ahead and take delivery of it. well we still can't use it, still making payments and its still in the yard. So I have a choice Lawyers or Repairs can't afford both. Its a shame that multi million dollar companies get your hard earned money and just don't care. All I ever asked to repair our camper back so we could enjoy it. Just Beware!!Do your research before buying any rv or anything Check Reviews and Believe what you READ. Show less

This is an awesome RV for 2 people! This is a master bedroom on wheels. The king/queen bed is so comfortable! Easily converts to living room or dining booth. Nice bathroom with giant shower! Lots of storage inside and outside. Easy to drive and park. 16 - 19 mpg. We've been to Yellowstone, Yosemite, Zion, and the Grand Canyon. Show less

We looked at other brands in a dealers display area and compared. We found the "fit and finish" of the Leisure Travel van to be superior to the others. The Mercedes platform and the diesel engine were another plus for us. The real capper was the Murphy Bed....makes for a nice spacious area during the day and very comfortable at night. Have driven 44,000 miles with nearly no problems, regular maintenance is not expensive and it is so easy to drive. About as easy as any pickup truck. Show less

I love the fact that you can pull into a grocery store with ease and fit in a parking spot. The front captain seats spin around and lay back to the dashboard/steering wheel for great napping or tv watching. Two months traveling in it was very comfortable. Love the heat pump to take the chill out on a cool night. Show less

The design and durability, weight, configuration the best & made to last. Minimalist style make its small size seem much larger. No problem for a couple people, 1 child. Did use for 3 with Awning and Ad a Room. Everything you need in one small but well designed package. Show less

We love this Unity. The slideout gives lots of living space, and the dinette turns into a bed large enough for one adult or two small children. Drives like a dream. Easy to hook up. Corner bed has high quality mattress, although somewhat hard to make up since it is in the corner. Plenty of storage space inside and out. Outside storage compartments have somewhat complex locks.
