2006 Four Winds reviews

We have owned this RV for 10 years and have loved every minute of it. The floor plan is ideal for a family with children or a couple traveling alone. With four different beds there is plenty of room for everyone. We have even traveled with a group of nine and all had a place to sleep (kids were doubled up together). The motorhome handles really well and the towing capacity is 5,000 lb which was great because we were able to tow our boat. The bathroom is a decent size when the doors are closed transforming the space making room to change, use the vanity and shower. With this all-inclusive rig, the fun begins from the moment you start driving somewhere. The only thing I wish it had is a slide to make it a little more spacious. Show less

Physically, this motorhome is a handsome looking unit, sides, front and back. Stylish modern graphics. It has good road manners, powerful and quiet. Quality inside, fit and finish is fine, not industrial strength to handle hard rough use. Electrical systems and plumbing continue to work as they should. The overall body is tight on rough roads, no rattles, creaks, squeaks. Well pleased with this unit. The negative issue I have had was the wimpy uncomfortable stock mattress, (changed that right quick) and the Ford Triton V10 engine exhaust manifold gasket leak. A snotty job to replace them, but not enough to give up ownership to another brand. Show less

I purchased it new from a dealer in 2007. After doing quite a bit of research, this was the floor plan we wanted in our price range. Plenty of storage, fuel/water capacity, towing capability, livability, mileage…everything we wanted is encompassed in the Hurricane 32R. Since the day we got it, we’ve loved it. Plenty of space for the four of us, towed our boat or toy box trailer with ease, never a hint of a mechanical problem…just a great RV all around. Show less

We bought ours used but low milage. It came with a 1 yr warranty which we didn't have to use. We have maintained it over the years so it is really not the age it indicates. This model has large bedroom with recliner, desk and picture window which makes it very livable. Gas is so much easier and cheaper to maintain and use. Most people never put the high milage on their rv that would justify diesel. We've also added a number of extras that did not come from the factory. Show less

Great RV, perfect for new and experienced RV owners! Easy to get accustomed to using! Great space! Is has 3 slides and auto leveling which is an awesome feature to have! This is great for families or those who are looking to head out on new adventures! Show less

We bought our 2006 Four Winds 5000 A28 several years ago in rough but drivable condition. We originally had problems with severe road vibration at any speed; new tires, balancing, driveshaft U-joints and carrier bearing replaced and the drive shafts balanced cured that. The Chevy Workhorse 6.0L engine has been a paragon of thrift and reliability: I HIGHLY recommend this drivetrain. I wish it had more than 4 speeds, especially when pulling hills. Crosswinds are challenging inasmuch as we have the aerodynamics of a small barn; going down the highway with a 50-70 mph crosswind is a white-knuckle thrill road! We get 8.5mpg at 70-ish miles per hour, uphill, downhill or falling off a cliff. Really want a bigger shower (I'm 6'2" and 240), but a new shower head at least fixed the low-flow situation. We made lots of personal taste changes (decor, coverings, etc), but would recommend the RV, to be sure. While the drivetrain is bullet-proof, understand the coach is not built to residential standards by any stretch of the imagination and things loosen up with time and vibration; keep a square tip cordless screwdriver handy! For a 2002 this Class C is in beautiful condition. It drives easy an tows well, with plenty of power. Bedroom is cozy and roomy. Bathroom is small but has vanity, sink, toilet. Shower is big. Kitchen is functional and extra nice. Has large awning, built in generator, heater, ac, stereo system and tv. Lots of cupboard space and outside storage. Backup camera added. Show less

it is just a superb motorhome everything you need to travel and feel at home the motor is a super ford v10...for traveling long distances could not have asked for better.....new t.v. and microwave and bed soo important and everything was on a prolonged guarantee so everything is in tip top shape. I feel very privileged to have experienced my vacations with this vehicle!!! Show less

We have been very happy with this RV. We have been all over the U.S. And have so enjoyed traveling in our Majestic. It has been easy to drive, easy to park and plenty of room with a middle door to separate living and sleeping areas. Show less

This is our first RV and we live in it full time. As we go along we are learning what we like and what we dont. We like that its inexpensive to maintain . We dont like that we didnt get one with slide outs because its very close quarters. We will be up grading to a fifth wheel next, more privacy in the sleeping quarters and we want a washer and dryer.
