The 2005 Safari was built by Monaco Coach. The Gazelle model was a high end model and was built on the Roadmaster Chassis which was designed and built by Monaco. The major difference between this unit and the Monaco is that the Gazelle has the Cat C9 400 hp engine and the Monaco had the Cummins 400 hp engine. The fit and finish on this unit is not as fine as the Bluebird or Newell but is perfectly adequate. The floor plan and facilities are designed for living aboard rather than weekend living and glitz. It has adequate bay storage and lots of inside cabinet storage.

The Safari Trek is a unique vehicle. The Electro-Majic bed provides liveability space equal to coaches 35' or more. The quality of the coach is excellent as is the floor plan that we have. This is our second Trek. We put 100,00 miles on the first one and then bought another (same floor plan)....read more

This is our second Trek. We put 100,00 miles on the first one and then bought another (same floor plan). Unfortunately, Safari, owned by Monaco, is no longer making this model.

We've traveled around the country for 3 years and never once had a major problem. The reliability and performance of this coach has surpassed all of my expectations. It's not an RV for family use, it's laid out specifically for two people that want to live in it for several months or full-time. It has a very large bedroom and it's been a pleasure living in it full time for 3 years.
