2003 Fleetwood reviews

I bought my American Eagle in March 2024 from the estate of the original owner with 55k miles. It was used almost strictly for tailgate parties at WV Football games. Owner towed a large BBQ/outdoor kitchen in a cargo trailer behind, so it also has supplemental trailer brake controls. It was stored in a special built climate-controlled garage since new. When the owner died in 2010, the family kept it for special occasions and still went to football games. It was rarely used for camping trips other than back to NC for service at the original dealer. It needed new tires and batteries when I got it but everything worked. the original bill of sale was included for $392k in 2003. The quality is superb! All cherry wood interior with beige Ultra leather seating. Since I am a full timer, I expect to upgrade the entertainment systems and already installed a new TV in the exterior compartment. Surprisingly, it also came with a lifetime Sirius Sat Radio which is excellent. I could go on and on about the quality and refinements but what few others have said about support, I want to add now, American Coach has a highly respected owners forum online with photos, facts, and immediate response to questions about issues with the coach. The Aqua-Hot system was new for me to learn about, and the forum was full of info. In Florida with it till March when I will drive to GA for the yearly FMCA Motor Coach events which are another huge support for information about the Eagle. Summers will be spent up north and winters down south. Maybe to Mexico with one of the FMCA owner caravans. Show less

I have only owned this 1 year with 2 previous owners. I need it gone as I can't drive it. My husband bought it for us to travel in, but has since passed away. It is too big for me. Please buy this AS IS. Show less

I've owned this RV for 12 years. Love the floorplan and build quality. More than enough engine power to tow anywhere. It has all the amenities you could want when boondocking or glamping with full hook ups. I would definitely buy this model again. Show less

Very happy with this coach. Driven many miles with it without any issues. Very comfortable and easy to drive. All appliances work as if new. Only minor issues such as bedroom sliding door came loose during drive. Easy $8 fix with new latch from Home Depot. Show less

I bought this RV from the original owner which made me the second owner. To me, this is the best floor plan Fleetwood has ever made on a RV with just 2 slides. The bedroom slide, is the whole bedroom, not just the bed like so many of them are. You don't feel like you are crawling up in a hole when you are going to bed. It has what I think is the largest shower in a gas RV under 38 feet long. The V10 engine has plenty of power. The 4 door refrigerator/freezer has more than enough room. This Southwind was the top of the line in the gas RVs from Fleetwood in 2003. The interior colors are very pleasing unlike some of the gaudy color interiors that they came out with. Show less

When I first started to drive this big rig I was scared to death. I was 75 and only 5’ 1”. Once my heart slowed down and I started to relax I discovered how easy it was to handle. If you’re traveling with just two people you could live in it easily full time. Show less

We have been able to travel in extreme comfort. And host large parties from the well designed kitchen.the storage bays have maximum room for games and camping equipment and tools and extra supplies. We have been very comfortable in both extremes of weather. Show less

We enjoy the open space the opposing slide outs offer in the living area. This RV drives easily and is simple to operate in regard to hook ups and deployment on arrival to a site. The oven is a great option on this model. Show less

Have owned 3 Class A motorhomes. This one is almost like driving a car, lots of power, good braking power. Very strong drive train. Decent gas mileage. Good floor plan for a 32 footer. Have liked this unit very much, has required little maintenance, live in for 3 months each winter and is comfortable. Show less
