We've used it on short local trips and cross country trips. This RV does it all.

This is a very easy RV to use and live with. It has great storage capacity and the interior space is totally livable with the single slide in. We have looked at a number of newer RV's that are essentially unusable with the slides in the closed position. This unit is perfectly livable with the slide in and very spacious with the slide out.
The only real complaint that I have with the unit is the fact that it could really use another 100 horsepower. Once you get it rolling it's OK, but you have to be patient and in hilly areas you have to plan ahead and use the shifter to keep the engine in the power band.

The planning and care that went into design is not matched by many other manufacturers, The mechanicals are installed and setup to make the ease of use superb. The Ford engine and chasis have plenty of power and drivability, handling and economy. We run typically between 5.5 and 8 MPG.

I've also flat towed my car on the ground and the motorhome doesn't even know it's there.
I've added a lot of creature comforts which has made it even better.

When looking for our first RV we wanted a motor home that would last plus: Diesel fuel, lots of storage both inside the RV and basement; ease with dumping and cleaning up afterwards; low maintenance; lots of room to entertain friends; ease of driving the RV; a quality made motor home, and a place we could call our home on the road. After looking at several different styles of RVs, we found the Winnebago Journey had what we were looking for. Can still remember our first test drive…the dealer took us to an open area off the freeway and said to me “It’s your turn to test drive now”. As a female, only driven our van, I was a little intimidated to drive this monster. But, found it was not intimidating at all…in fact found it perfect, easy to turn and drive. And…since then have helped my husband to drive when traveling. With the Diesel pusher, going up mountains was a breeze and found us passing trucks and cars as if we were driving on a flat highway. The Winnebago name is known for their quality and found this RV we meet all our expectations. We always felt secure in our home on wheels and loved our home we called “’baby”.
