1999 fleetwood bounder reviews

A wonderful motorhome for our many trips to Florida pulling our Mustang. No problems but we are 90 now and need to sell it. Keeping it in a heated garage has kept it in good condition We would gladly make more trips south but time marches on and we must deal with reality. Show less

I bought a 1999 fleetwood bounder brand new. It is absolutely the best motorhome on the market. I have put 146,000 miles on it with very few problems, mostly electrical. I highly recommend this brand motor home to anyone. It has a 5.9 diesel engine; allison transmission and a 7.5 Onan diesel generator. Show less

The Bonder is a great entry level motorhome. This is my second one and I hope to have a newer Bounder soon. Im very happy with Fleetwood customer service, I can get anything my rv need . I have done some suspension improvenent and my Bounder ride nice. Show less

We looked at this RV on the dealer's lot and was disappointed with the dealer. They were not willing to have an independent mechanic check out the drive train. I wanted an engine oil analysis, tranny oil analysis, etc. Dash air didn't work. Noticed rust behind basement cargo doors. Was this RV from a northern state? Most of the windows were fogged over indicating the thermopane glass had failed. Only had 30 amp shore power which would mean only on AC unit could be used. Non-standard plug on electric cable (clothes dryer type). Driving was not up to my expectations. I would not have liked construction zone encounters and doubt my wife could have driven it. The RV would track on freeway OK but I had to work to do it.I've driven the largest U-haul type moving trucks across the USA and felt comfortable. This vehicle had just 45k miles with 329 hours on generator. New tires, too. But since dealer was not willing to work with me on mechanicals, I passed it up. Too bad. Was clean inside. Show less

Livability is very good, all appliances have worked and lasted very well. Unit drives well, is underpowered and tows a small car well. Slide leaked at some time causing wall damage by drivers seat. Had to replace carpeting, floor delaminated. Rugs should not be put in RV's. Overall it was a good unit but am going to upgrade to more slides and diesel power. Show less
